Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) We like to describe our sound as adrenalized Pop/Rock. The main reason we say “adrenalized” is because we do everything with high energy and that is something we think is unique about us as well.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Some of our musical influences are Imagine Dragons, twenty one pilots, Thirty Seconds to Mars, X Ambassadors, The Band Camino, OneRepublic and Maroon 5. Kanye [West] and Post Malone fit in our major influences as well!

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Our song writing process is different with every song. Sometimes I (Tanner) will have a melody or lyrics or Peyton will have lyrics or beat. We never limit ourselves on that process.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) We do all of the production in house. We have a studio in our parents’ house, so Peyton does everything from there.

Q) Your debut album Always Gold is out now. What are some themes you explore on it?

A) We were really passionate about others chasing their dreams, uniting people and spreading positivity. I think all of those things are crystal clear throughout the album and it made the album extremely special!

Q) I’m sure there were a number of wonderful songs written for the album. How did you settle on ten?

A) Most of these songs were written in the early stages of RAGS AND RICHES. We picked these ten because they matched up perfectly and were strong as a package together versus individual singles.

Q) What songs from Always Gold hold a special place in your heart and what makes them so significant to you?

A) “Victim” and “PRESSURE” have to be my favorites on the album. They relate with everyone whether that be from the issue of feeling disconnected or hating the way the world responds to situations like the “Victim” lyrics or the “PRESSURE” lyrics being like back against the wall and the weight of the world on you expecting for you to perform. I think both of those hold a special place in my heart!

Q) What tracks on the album challenged you the most creatively?

A) “Mind Control” was the absolute most challenging. The rap later in the song was one of the most difficult things to piece together, but in the end, it came out beautifully.

Q) What songs off this album have you been enjoying performing live?

A) “Victim,” “Mind Control” and “PRESSURE” feel absolutely exhilarating to play live! There is no greater feeling than the energy that happens during those songs!

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to Always Gold as a whole?

A) We hope that people feel encouraged to take on any challenge that comes in life and to chase dreams no matter the circumstances.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Post Malone would be such a unique collab. I feel like we could make a killer song together.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) The Wrecks. Super cool band and making songs that are outside of the box.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It is the best way to stay connected with everyone throughout the many months of the year where we aren’t touring and also just continue to build relationships with people deeper than just a distant fan.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) We can never fully express how much we love our fans and supporters. The amount of passion that Peyton and I (Tanner) put into RAGS AND RICHES stems from all of you, so thank you again!
