Q) What drew you to want to be a part of “All American: Homecoming?”

A) I have been a fan since “All American” season one, so even the privilege to audition for the spin off was an honor. Then, to actually book it…I screamed for several days.

Q) What has it been for you to play the first Black and nonbinary character on The CW?

A) An absolute dream. It’s been a very healing journey to get to play a character I needed to see. I hope so many Non-Binary and Gender Non-Conforming young people get to see themselves reflected and I hope inspired to know that just like everyone else. Opportunities are endless.

Q) What do you enjoy the most about playing Nathaniel?

A) Mostly how she supports her friends. She is really such an empath and will always go above and beyond for her people. I think it’s probably one of the most important parts about her, and it really reflects the kind of person that I want to be for my friends.

Q) What have been some of your most memorable moments from filming the show?

A) Some of them I can’t reveal yet, but one was Episode 3. There was such a beautiful scene that I had with Netta Walker and a moment I will never forget. It was such a truthful scene that Cam [Moore] wrote and I think so many people can relate to.

Q) Are there any episodes that stand out to you that you can’t wait for fans to see?

A) Episode 11. It’s another one that I really got to connect with my scene partners and create beautiful moments. Some incredible writing by Charia Rose and Jeffrey David Thomas.

Q) One of things that I enjoy about the show is the friendships, especially the friendship between Kiesha and Nathaniel. What is like getting to work with Netta Walker and what do you value about their relationships?

A) Netta Walker is just one of those rare earth-shaking talents, so the honor has been all mine. Then, being the remarkable person, she makes it like a dream to get to be around her.

I love Keisha & Nathaniel’s friendship because it’s just such a genuine connection. I mean, from the pilot Netta and I glued together like we had been friends for years. #TheaterKids

Q) We see on the show, most of the characters are having love interests. Are we going to see Nathaniel have a love interest soon?

A) Hmmm…I’m not sure. I guess you’ll have to stay tuned to find out! [laughs]

Q) Nathaniel’s sense of fashion is amazing on the show. How do you contribute your own sense of style to your character?

A) I’m truly grateful to get to trust fully in our Designer Tiffany [Hasbourne]. I was amazed by her from filming the pilot. She put so much into Nathaniel’s fashion – making sure that it tells her story!

Q) What has it meant to you to be a part of the series?

A) The huge dream of being a working actor is one thing. But then to be on a show that joins you with one you already loved and to do it with such warm-hearted good people is absolutely a blessing.

Q) What are the other projects that you are currently working on?

A) Getting ready for the premiere of Ryan Murphy’s – “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” which is coming up soon! I was so honored to get to work with Evan Peters, Shaun Brown and Ato Blankson-Wood.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and the work you do?

A) That y’all’s support has meant the world to me! I couldn’t haven’t gotten through low moments without you, and all the love you’ve shown. I love you right back.
