Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Definitely Pop R&B vibes. I also don’t like to put myself in a bubble. I write how I feel and if it feels good, I put it out.

Q) How has your career changed since you first performed at Lollapalooza?

A) I think the main thing that’s changed is I finally know who I am as an artist. I also have a fanbase now that likes to listen to me …and back then the only people I had listening to me was my family.

Q) Congratulations on your recent singles “Smile” and “Hate LA.” What was the inspiration behind the two tracks?

A) Obviously, both are about love and loss, but “Smile” was actually written about my grandmother who passed in March and “Hate LA” was written about a stupid ex-boyfriend.

Q) Do you ever get nervous when performing, and if so, how do you overcome it?

A) I get nervous pretty much every time I’m actually on stage, but I guess it’s more like adrenaline as soon as I get up there. When singing my first note my nerves go away and I just feel like I’m where I’m supposed to be.

Q) What was your motivation behind competing on “The Bachelor: Listen To Your Heart” and how has your life changed since that experience?

A) I think I was just really intrigued by the whole thing. What musician doesn’t wanna fall in love with someone that they get to sing with?!

I’m a sucker for a good love story so the chance at that with music on top of it… what more could I ask for? Main thing that’s changed in my life is the fact that now people watch me and I have a platform, and I’m so grateful for that.

Q) What was your most memorable performance from “The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart?”

A) I think my favorite performance was “Tennessee Whiskey” just because I knew that song a little bit better. I was able to just go there and have fun and perform and not worry so much about messing the song up.

Q) How has your music resonated with your fans?

A) I pride myself in being real and genuine and I think that’s why it resonates with people.

Q) What is your writing process like? Do you have a favorite place to write?

A) I love writing in my room, but I also write literally anywhere. When I start to actually write a whole song, I like to play some piano or guitar and just start writing lyrics and melodies at the same time.

Q) What do you love the most about performing?

A) Performing is definitely my favorite part of what I do. I love singing, I love recording and I love writing, but I’m such a perfectionist so sometimes things can take me a while. When I get up on stage, I have one shot to make it good and entertain people so that’s what I do!! I love expressing/telling the story of what I’m singing through my performances.

Q) Who are some of your dream collaborators?

A) I’d love to collaborate with so many people, but I think some dope DREAM features would be Russ and Drake.

Q) What advice would you give to aspiring singers/songwriters?

A) Practice, practice, practice. Don’t give up. I feel like I was such a terrible songwriter when I started writing, but I never stopped trying. I still have a ways to go to get where I wanna be, but if you just keep pushing yourself, you can do it.

Q) Do you have any other upcoming projects you’re able to share with us?

A) My next single “Stupid Boy” dropped July 10th. It’s my favorite song to date and I’m super excited for people to hear it. Other than, that more music every month or so and hopefully some new music videos on the way!
