Fiona (Emmy Rossum) has a change of heart in this week’s episode of Shameless, “Los Diablos”, but it doesn’t last for very long when things take a dreadful turn. While working at Patsy’s at night, Fiona is busy counting the money from the day. She makes the mistake of walking back into the office to refill on alcohol, but when she comes back to the front she finds three strange men staring at the money. She tries to brush it off and asks if they want a table, but their intentions are very clear. A look of panic takes over Fiona’s face as they begin to close in on her, but luckily the cook walks out and the men decide to leave. Shaken up by the whole experience, Fiona locks the front door for the night.

In prep for the Hobo Loco contest, Frank (William H. Macy) prepares for it by rolling around in the mud while Ingrid (Katey Sagal) is talking to Debbie (Emma Kenney) about being an adult. Debbie tells Ingrid that if she plans to live in the house she has to start paying for her portion. She promises to give her part after she has her client phone therapy sessions later that day. Debbie’s problems as the new mother figure of the house continue when Liam (Christian Isaiah) asks her to call the plumber to snake the drain of the bathtub. Instead of calling someone to help, Debbie decides to snake the drain, clean the air vents and check the carbon monoxide detector.

The next morning Patsy’s employees show up to find the diner doors locked. After Eliza (Rebecca Field) opens up the doors, she finds Fiona passed out sleeping in one of the booths and when she goes to wake her up Fiona jumps up alarmed with a knife in her hands. She confesses she left the money out and what happened the night before, but then storms out of Patsy’s when Eliza displays shock over her actions. And while Fiona is trying to make sense of her life, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) seems very happy with Tami (Kate Miner) as they take a shower together talking about spending the day together and going on a date on their day off.

Kev (Steve Howey) and V (Shanola Hampton) wake up to Santiago’s (Anthony Gonzalez) screaming. It turns out that the twins are beating him up while having him handcuffed and with duct tape on his mouth. The twins don’t seem to understand why Santiago is there and want him out of the house, despite Kevin trying to explain to them that he is a part of their family now.

Frank heads to the Hobo Loco competition to find that there are many other people that are eager to participate as well. He meets a man named Mikey O’Shea (Luis Guzman) and the two of them sneak their way to the front of the line. Luckily for them, they are the ideal contestants for this competition because their blood alcohol level is way over the limit and they’re able to chug the drinks in less than a few seconds.

Carl (Ethan Cutotsky) gets a new job as a sign spinner at a fast-food joint. He hopes this will make him look legitimate when he adds it to his West Point application. Meanwhile, Fiona gets home and throws out all the alcohol. After her experience at Patsy’s, she wants to improve things for the better which means including being nicer to Debbie whenever she asks for money. She promises to give it to Debbie after her afternoon shift at Patsy’s.

Lip and Tami spend the day together running each other’s errands which includes going to a senior center where Tami volunteers. Lip helps her wash the women’s hair and his client is more than excited to have him do it. In fact, when he begins washing her hair Tami tells him to watch out because the woman is known to get handsy and she sure does.

In an effort to make Santiago feel more welcome, Kev dresses him up just like him before heading to the Alibi. Liam shows up asking Santiago if he’ll help him make money so he can give it to Debbie, but he can’t because he’s busy with Kev. Plus, Santiago’s sister is coming later on that day and he’s super excited about it. Back at the Hobo Loco competition Frank and O’Shea make it into the top twenty contestants and have to begin their first task–collecting items to make themselves a bed. Frank almost succeeds and tries to get rid of O’Shea in the process, but it backfires when O’Shea knocks him down and steals his things. O’Shea wins that round of the competition and then they are given their second task–creating a dinner by dumpster diving. Frank retaliates and locks O’Shea in a dumpster and steals the things he has found.

Liam is still trying to figure out how to make money and comes up with a plan after trying to apply at a store. He takes their squeezed lemons and starts a lemonade stand in the neighborhood close to their house. The lemonade stand seems to be doing well until the woman whose house they are in front of starts complaining. She calls the police on them and while the policeman doesn’t think they’re doing anything wrong, the woman insists he make them shut it down.

At the Alibi we see V and Kev find out that Santiago is under the impression that the girls are trying to murder him and he is referring to them as “Los Diablos,” which translates to “the devils.” But Santiago doesn’t want to complain because he thinks V and Kev will send him back otherwise. They have a conversation about the different shades of brown and perhaps why it might be the reason the girls are threatened by Santiago. When Santiago’s sister arrives later the girls aren’t very pleased, but they are happy to hear that Santiago and his sister want to leave with their uncle and go back to Guatemala. V and Kev aren’t happy about it, but decide to drop them off with their uncle anyway so they can go back home.

When Lip and Tami get back home after their day, Lip is shocked to see Xan (Amirah Johnson) sitting on the doorsteps. Her mother abandoned her again. She had been looking for her mother at a truck stop, but when she didn’t show up she came to see Lip. Lip is frazzled by what could have happened to Xan, but Tami steps in to handle the situation.

Things take a bad turn for Fiona when she gets fired from Patsy’s after the events of the night before and all the complaints that have come in against her recently. Just like that, she starts drinking again and loses all hope in life. When she finds out that Liam was asked to stop his lemonade stand, Fiona takes matters into her own hands because she will not tolerate anyone being racist. She organizes a neighborhood march right to the woman’s house for a party and ends up punching her in the face as the cops show up and arrest her.

Carl runs into issues while spinning the sign when a gang from his past show up thinking he is selling again. They beat him up and search him for any drugs and he decides he doesn’t want to do this job anymore. Things are going from bad to worse for the Gallaghers because Fiona can’t stop drinking anymore, and Debbie almost gets stuck beneath the house while trying to use the carbon monoxide detector. Luckily, Carl’s girlfriend rescues her and the two have an interesting moment.

Ingrid’s ex-husband shows up with her doctor hoping to convince and stop Ingrid from trying to take all six babies to term. It doesn’t appear she’ll have much of a choice in the matter as her doctor is determined to take her in. Ingrid runs away and hides in the basement.
