Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) We have a fun and positive sound that we think that whole family can enjoy! Our songs range from upbeat to more ballad-like.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) As a band, we are influenced by bands such as 5 Seconds of Summer and Panic! At The Disco. We all have more personal influences that are rooted in pop-punk and metal.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Trading Secrets.”

A) “Trading Secrets” started off with the line “any night without you is like a year without the summer.” We loved that idea so much that we worked with it until the music was exactly how we wanted it. It’s one of our favorites on the album!

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) We think that anyone can connect to this song. Most have had at least one experience where you’ve known someone that’s blown your mind and it sucks being away from them. Thus “any night without you, is like a year without the summer.”

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video shows people exchanging notes (secrets) which say something about them that they haven’t told anyone! We decided to go in a more literal direction, but the underlying message is still there.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) We’ll take any part of a song that we like and work with it, whether it be a lyric, a riff or a vocal melody. It keeps things interesting when writing songs!

Q) You worked with Matt Squire on the production of your upcoming album. How do you think he enhanced your sound?

A) Matt took what we had and made it sound amazing. He really is great at what he does. He was able to capture the punch that we wanted to keep an upbeat feel.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Skyward Story performance?

A) We like to involve our fans at our shows! Don’t be surprised if we try to get you to clap and jump around, that’s just how we like to do things.

Q) What songs off your upcoming debut album are you looking forward to performing live?

A) Well, we have officially played all of our released songs live, but we don’t want to spill the names of the other songs before the release! We’re excited to play all the ones currently unreleased though.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to your new album as a whole?

A) We hope that Reborn is able to help you escape and bring you to a happy place in your mind. We want to keep the good vibes alive.

Q) The album is going to be released on January 18, 2019. How do you all plan to celebrate?

A) We’re gonna celebrate by writing new music ASAP! We may have a private little party of our own, however.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) We love playing around the northeast in general. Our hometown is obviously going to win as our favorite place to play though. There are so many great venues and the scene is very diverse.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Charlie Puth and Bruno Mars would be awesome to make music with!

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) We’ve been jamming to a lot of The 1975 recently. Their sound is super interesting.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Social media has given us the opportunity to reach out to fans, which is important in letting as many people know about what we’re doing! We also respond to as many DMs as possible.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you so much for all of your support! We couldn’t have made it this far without you all.
