A) This song gives them permission to do whatever they want.
Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?
A) I feel that the video actually plays into more of my artist brand currently and my elevation as a true superstar artist.
Q) Your debut album For My Own Entertainment is out now. What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?
A) Yes, I usually always need music first. Oftentimes producers send me instrumentals and I write to it alone. I’m super sensitive about writing lyrics in front of people. Some songs I did write in the studio though.
Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?
A) I’m so hands on. I executively produced everything.
Q) You just wrapped your first headline American tour. What can fans expect from a live Sophia Galate performance?
A) They actually can’t even expect what I do! The show is so curated and so interactive, which is really unexpected for these smaller rooms. There’s a lot of audience participation and glamour.
Q) What songs off your album did you most enjoy performing live or that the audience really loved hearing live?
A) My favorite song to sing is “Should I Tell You” because I feel most emotionally connected. “Jet Ski Driver” is fun to sing too with the band.

A) Chicago! I used to live there so the energy is always vibrant.
Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?
A) PJ Morton
Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?
A) I like Bruno Mars’ new album
Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?
A) They make all this possible. I’m grateful that people connect to it on a human level beyond the music and really the true meaning.
