Q) What are the recent projects that you have been working on?

A) I’ve been working on new music, and some upcoming projects that I’m sadly not allowed to speak about yet!

Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Chill but yet pop

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My favorite female musician is Lana Del Rey, so I try to keep her in mind when I’m writing. But I believe my music is more influenced by Selena Gomez and Julia Michaels.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Ain’t Gonna Play.”

A) “Ain’t Gonna Play” is about teenage love, I guess you could say. When I was writing it, I wanted to send a message/say the things I was never brave enough to say to the guy that the song was about. It was kinda about getting the last word!

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think my fans, or anyone who as listened to the song connects to it because it’s something every teenage girl as gone through.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video connects to the song because the video is literally shows what happened in to me IRL that made me write the song. I also wanted to have the video be in Black and White because I felt like it matched the vibe of the song better. (Hope that makes sense! [laughs])

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) We made a beat first before we started writing anything, but we already had the idea of what we wanted it to be about and sound like.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I had a lot of say in what was happening in the production, which was awesome because I was making music that I wanted to make.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Sophia Lucia performance?

A) Hopefully a grand, hype, awesome experience!

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I’ve performed in so many places for dance, but when it comes to music, I’m not sure that I have a venue that I would absolutely want to play at!

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Julia Michaels

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’ve been listening to Ariana Grande’s new music. I’m obsessed with her new single. The sound she is making right now is in the genre of music that I want to make in the future.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I do think social media is an important way to connect with fans, and I think it’s become the only way to connect with them since social media has become so popular. If it wasn’t for the fans, I probably wouldn’t be so active in social media!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you. Thank you for the continued support throughout the years. My life has changed in so many amazing ways because of my fans, and I’m so grateful and humbled to have them as my fans.
