This week’s episode starts off with Lena (Jenna Fischer) and Martin (Oliver Hudson) coming back from a morning jog. While Martin makes fun of how tired she is from the job, mainly because she was talking so much, Lena still has one more thing to say. She has feelings for him again. Instead of giving her the response she was hoping for, he tells her that he understands and just leaves it at that. Their attention is diverted when they realize that Milo’s (Sander Thomas) turtle is female and has laid three eggs, just like their three kids.

Lena talks to Camille (Lindsay Price) later that day to tell her Martin didn’t really respond to her comment about having feelings. Camille reminds her that in Martin’s favor Lena has been pretty confusing and all over the place, so she needs to give it some time. Instead, they decide to put their efforts on giving Maya (Diane Farr) a babymoon. Unfortunately, Maya is busy trying to get Gene’s (Marc Evan Jackson) attention, but he doesn’t really seem to care that she wants to get away. He is going away for the weekend and says she can tag along if she wants but it’ll be on a long bus ride and then without saying much else he leaves for the day. Luckily, Lena and Camille call right at that moment to convince her to do a babymoon and fulfill things on her bucket list. Maya confesses she always imagined stealing their father’s Mustang and going on a “Thelma and Louise” road trip.

And she gets just that when the next morning Lena and Camille show up with the car and dressed up ready to go. While the girls head out for the weekend Arthur (Bobby Lee) accompanies Martin and Milo to a kid’s birthday party where he tells Martin that he should have responded to Lena. But Martin says he was trying to play it cool and make Lena work for it,. However, now he fears that with Lena out of town he might have made a mistake. During this birthday party Martin meets Sugar Beard (Travis Schuldt) and is surprised to learn Maya didn’t want to be with such a good-looking, kind man.

As the girls venture off on their road trip, Camille says she knows of a spa nearby they can all go to, but Maya doesn’t want a spa day. She wants to do something that will make her happy, not everyone else. She has Lena stop the car and takes over the driving duties and drives them spontaneously to a motel called Vagabond where she proceeds to pig out on lunch and then get a room to take a nap in. When Lena and Camille try to confront her about why she wants to stay in the motel, Maya breaks down because she feels lonely. Lena has Martin and Camille has Arthur, but she’s alone and is afraid that her child will think she’s pathetic. Not to mention she’s never had a man love her deeply before that wants to be with her. The girls decide to cheer her up and eventually Maya tells them that there is a saloon bar nearby that she wants to go to and ride the mechanical bull there.

Back at home the guys including Mason (Van Crosby) are all talking about the girls’ road trip and how Sugar Beard loves Maya. In the middle of their conversation Henry (Geoff Pierson) shows up infuriated that his daughters stole his car. Luckily, Arthur knows where they are thanks to Instagram, which will allow them to find them easily. The guys take off on their own road trip to find the girls who are busy watching Maya on a mechanical bull that Lena has forced to go at a slow speed. When she turns around she is surprised to see Martin there who has come to confess his love for her and sweep her off of her feet. At the same time Sugar Beard puts on a performance for Maya, which both Arthur and Martin join to impress their women.

Maya and Sugar Beard share a tender moment, but it doesn’t last for long when Maya thinks she is going into labor. As they rush off to the hospital Arthur and Camille take Mason home while everyone else piles up in Henry’s car (which has been reported stolen and is being pursued by the cops as they take off). It turns out though that it was a false alarm and Maya is not having that baby just yet. But the trip to the hospital did reveal one huge surprise for Lena and Martin–a very pregnant Lisa Apple (Monica Barbaro) being taken away on a gurney.

Back at home Milo’s turtle’s eggs hatch, but it turns out there weren’t just three eggs. It was four; similar to the sentiment that they soon will have a half-sibling they had no idea about. Mason hopes that when the fourth egg hatches the other three will be nice to it to which Mae (Olivia Keville) responds, “They will.”
