The next scene we see is three young girls sitting in front of the ASA’s scenario while Carlotta’s (Queen Latifah) voice over kicks in and she talks about the dreams she had when she was a child. All of a sudden we see the girls are no longer there and now they have been replaced by Simone (Brittany O’Grady), Star (Jude Demorest) and Alex (Ryan Destiny) instead.

Carlotta is at the ASA’s red carpet trying to reach out to Rashad (Major.) who hasn’t answered her calls since she confessed that she was her mother. The girls walk in still not believing they have made it this far. Noah (Luke James) also walks in taking his mother Dianne (Kimberly Elise) by the arm. The woman is so happy to see how much her son had succeeded and also makes sure to let him know that neither her nor his father would let Star to take Davis away from him.

The ASAs officially begin and the opening song is in charge of Lil Dini (Marcos Palacios) who takes the stage along with Rashad much to Carlotta and the girls’ surprise. When the song ends Lil Dini and Rashad goes back stage and meet with Carlotta who faces her son who seems to be in a very inconvenient state and doesn’t seem to care at all about her opinion. Lil Dini tells her that he is a grown man and is not like she is his mother to what Carlotta replies that he actually is. Lil Dini and the girls are surprised at such confession. He decides to leave to avoid any trouble and when Carlotta is left with Rashad she tells him his behavior on the stage is so uncharacteristic of him, but he says that given his life history maybe the one on the stage is all he actually is.

Later on the Best Pop Album category winner is about to be announced by Lil Dini and he yells that the girls from Take Three have earned it. The girls, Carlotta and Bruce (Miss Lawrence) celebrate. Then, they go to the stage and give their speech. They are interrupted by Lil Dini when he says that he made a mistake and the actual winner is Amber (Erika Tham).

When the ceremony is finally over the girls, Bruce and Carlotta gather at her house to discuss about the earlier events. Even though the experience wasn’t as pleasant as expected, they seem to be content with the results and find out that they still have a reason to celebrate as Alex’s wedding is right around the corner. So, the five of them get up and start dancing and celebrating anyways. Derek (Quincy Brown) is dancing while he cooks breakfast. Alex joins him and then the doorbell rings and the girl says that her dress has arrived, but he is not allowed to see it. Suddenly, Ruby shows up yet she seems to be a little high. She expresses how happy she is for the both of them and how much they have overcome.

In the meantime, Star is about to leave the house to attend her meeting in court when she meets with Cotton (Amiyah Scott) who will be taking care of Davis for the day. She tries to convince the blonde that what she is about to do is not right and that there are better ways, but the girl is having none of it. Carlotta shows up and tells her that she will join her as she promised.

Simone meets with Angel (Evan Ross) at the studio and tells him that she is not happy with Star’s decision on giving up Davis and asks him if they ever going to talk about the car explosion, but he tells her that they never go anywhere with their conversations and also lets her know that he is still scared for them. Right that moment, Mateo (William Levy) enters the room and tells Simone that “Good Morning Atlanta” is at the plaza and they are waiting for her.

Star is in court explaining the reasons why she is thinking about giving Davis for adoption. When the judge (Orelon Sidney) asks her about the father she tells her that he is in no condition of taking care of the baby either. Noah, who has been there all along in the company of his mother, tries to explain that even though he has been going through a rough situation he feels capable of taking care of the kid. Star decides to play her cards and shows a video of when Noah was in charge of Davis and the baby nearly died just because the man was intoxicated. Noah finds it hard to see the video and tries to convince the judge that he has changed. Unfortunately, given the actual proof, the judge decides that neither of them is capable of keeping Davis’ custody.

Rashad goes to see Cassie (Brandy Norwood) to tell her about what happened with Carlotta and how confused he feels now. He thinks that Carlotta did know that she was his mother. Cassie tries to calm him down and after he leaves a woman (Charity Hitchcock) who identifies herself as Xander’s (Chad Michael Murray) wife points a gun at her and demands her to confess where is Xander. She tells her that the warehouse where he was at was covered in blood, but his body was never found.

Bruce and Carlotta are preparing some gifts for Alex’s bachelorette party when Randall (Kinyumba Mutakabbir) arrives wanting to talk to Carlotta. He wants to know if she would accept his job offer or not, but she tells her that the only way she would do that is if he takes her along with the girls. Unfortunately, he says that is not possible.

It’s Alex’s bachelorette party time. Star and Carlotta arrive at the place where the girls are already having their fun. Alex is surprised to see the blonde there after what happened at court and Simone is mad at her sister for what she is planning to do with Davis. However, they decide to call it off and enjoy the moment for Alex’s sake. Star and Simone sing for Alex and all of them seem to be having fun. In the meantime, Derek seems to be drunk so while he is lying in bed a girl walks in his room and blindfolds him making him believe that is Alex. It seems though he didn’t realize that the girl is actually Olivia (Kayla Smith), Alex’s stalker.

The next day Cassie and Carlotta discuss the recent news about Xander. Cassie believes that the best way is for her to leave because otherwise Xander would come for her and she doesn’t want to risk anyone else’s life. Carlotta tells her that she will help her find him and she won’t allow her to go anywhere.

Star is at her house waiting for her babysitter to arrive. The doorbell rings and she is surprised to see that is actually Jackson (Matthew Noszka) at the door. He tells her that he has some good news for her as he found out that Amber cheated at ASA’s and bribed one of the judges to give her the award so the truth is that the winners are Take Three. He has even stolen the award and gives it back to Star. Although Star is grateful for what he did, she is not in good terms with him yet as she is still offended for what he said to her the last time hey saw each other. He mentions that he was still hurt and that is why he said all those horrible things to her, but he also believes that if there is anyone capable of talking care of Davis that is her. The babysitter hasn’t arrived and Star needs to go and meet the girls for the wedding, so Jackson offers himself to watch over the baby while the other girl arrives.

Star and Simone meet with Alex and they tell her the good news about their winning. Simone gives her something old to wear and Star offers her the award as “something new.” Ruby is at her kitchen when Derek shows up all dressed up and ready to get married. She expresses how proud she is of the man he has become. He leaves the house and then, when she is all alone, a couple of guys walk in (Dayo Abanikanda and Tomar Boyd) wanting to avenge their friend’s death. Ruby tells them that their friend raped so he deserved it. They point at her with a gun and she starts to recite a Bible verse. Then, she dares them to shoot at her until they finally do. Then they walk away leaving the woman’s dead body behind them.

Noah is at the studio when Bobby (Harold Perrineau) walks in. The guy tells his father that he really needed him while he was at the court, but he never showed up. Bobby explains that the reason why he has been absent lately is only because he is sick. He confesses that he has cancer, but also assures him that they will fight it together. He didn’t tell him before only because he wanted him to be healthy and on his own feet first.

It’s wedding day and everyone has arrived. Now, we can see Derek waiting for Alex at the altar. Alex walks in by the arm of Carlotta who is taking her down the aisle. The wedding begins and they are pronounced man and wife. The couple leaves the church happily and make their way to the reception. Simone gives a heartfelt speech about Alex and Derek. Mateo meets with Carlotta and tells her that he is aware the girls had won at the ASA’s. Carlotta tells her that Randall offered her a job, but she suggested he invest in the company instead. So, Mateo tells her that if she manages to get the deal he will give Gravity Media to her. Noah asks Star for a moment to talk to her where he tries to convince her that they are capable of raising Davis. Right that moment Olivia walks in and tries to give a speech for the couple, but Derek stands up and asks her to go away. All of a sudden a man comes from behind the place and tries to kill Carlotta, but Cassie gets in the middle and she takes the shot for her. On the other side of the room one of the men that killed Ruby also starts to shoot everyone randomly and the first one he gets is Angel. The man walks away and now we see Carlotta holding Cassie, Mateo lying next to them covered in blood, Simone trying to keep Angel awake, Derek and Alex hidden next to a table and Star being protected by Noah. She manages all the courage she can and tells him that he doesn’t have to worry because Davis is theirs. The two of them go to Star’s house and see Jackson lying unconscious on the floor. They realize that Davis is now gone.
