Mary (Samantha Smith) hugs her son, happy that Sam (Jared Padalecki) is alive. “Sam, what happened?” Dean asks his brother. “He brought me back,” Sam answers meaning Lucifer (Mark Pelegrino). “It’s what I do,” Lucifer says. Castiel (Misha Collins) asks Lucifer how he got there. Lucifer reminds how he gave Sammy an extra life and says that he’s there to join the team. “You name is Jack,” Lucifer says looking at his son. “And yours is Lucifer,” Jack (Alexander Calvert) responses. “No, don’t talk to him. And you, don’t listen to him,” Dean orders both Lucifer and Jack. Lucifer reminds that is Jack’s choice, besides he’s the only one who understands Jack and the power he has. Dean demands that Jack kill the devil with the blade. But Jack is tired of all the fighting so he vanishes. Gabriel (Richard Speight Jr.) offers to go find his nephew. Lucifer thinks he deserves a little respect.  He is the most powerful weapon they have and can fight Michael (Christian Keyes) since he’s done it before. Castiel puts Enochian etched handcuffs on Lucifer just in case the devil’s new fond team spirit doesn’t last.  “So if you’re here, does that mean the rift is closed?” Sam asks. “No, I left Rowena so grace,” Lucifer answers telling Team Free Will that he anticipates they have roughly thirty-six hours.

Meanwhile, Rowena (Ruth Connell) is in the Men of Letters bunker pouring over some texts.

“I’m sorry about all of this,” Sam tells Dean. “Are you good?” Dean asks. “I’m alive,” Sam answers. “Then you’ve got nothing to apologize for,” Dean assures giving his brother one of the patented Winchester hugs, “I thought I lost you man. What are we going to do about Lucifer?” “I’ll handle him. Dean, let me handle him.”

Jack thinks about his mom and can hear Kelly Kline telling him how much she loves him and wishes she could see him grow up. She also told him how no one would blame him if he decided to go looking for his dad. Kelly reminded that no one can tell him who he is or how he’s expected to be.

After decking Lucifer, Mary tells Sam and Dean that she’s not leaving and can’t abandon the people that she’s fought with because she believes in their cause.  Dean tells his mother how every fight can’t be won. And regardless how many people they’ve lost (including each other several times) they never leave each other behind. Sam suggests that if Mary doesn’t want to leave the people, they can bring them with them. Mary says they will never leave their home.   But Sam thinks that after they get them to safety and they figure out a way to fight Michael, they can come back and save their world. Mary tells Sam and Dean that there are about twenty-five or so people to bring through the rift.

Jack comes to Castiel and Lucifer; he’s decided that he wants to listen to what his father has to say. Lucifer admits that he’s done things he’s not proud of but refuses to take the blame for everything that’s ever gone wrong in the world as he’s been locked in a cage like forever. Lucifer reminds that Jack’s grandfather is God and he’s a part of the most powerful family that ever existed. Dean arrives and angrily reminds that he told them not to talk with each other. But Jack refuses to listen to Dean because he needs to know about his family and powers. Mary tells Dean that Jack has been fighting a war and has loss people. She also says that he (Jack) will see Lucifer through his own eyes and not Dean’s. Meanwhile, Jack is telling Sam how with his and his father’s combined powers they can kill Michael. “That’s really not the plan,” Sam says.

Suddenly Gabriel, who was scouting ahead, runs up shouting that angels are behind him. The angels appear and state they will kill everyone.  But Lucifer snaps his fingers turning the winged beings into dust. Then, he snaps his fingers again and the Enochian etched handcuffs vanish.  He admits that he knew they wouldn’t work in this world but wanted to convince them that he was a team player.

Sam and Dean run into Apocalypse Earth Bobby (Jim Beaver), who comments that even though their Bobby choice to freeze his ass off in the cold Sioux Falls weather, he preferred to do the opposite. Bobby tells them that Charlie (Felicia Day) took Ketch (David Haydn-Jones) with her. He (Bobby) also doesn’t think bringing his people back to their Earth is the best idea.

Lucifer continues to give Jack the 411 on their family tree. He introduces Jack to his Uncle Gabriel.  Gabriel tells Lucifer that he may paint himself as a misunderstood victim but he (Lucifer) is the reason for mankind’s downfall.

Mary tries to convince a freedom fighter named Andy (Jeff Joseph) to come with them to her world. Sam explains that in his world they have a vast library or lore as well as an arsenal of weapon which they can use once they figure out how to defeat Michael.

Meanwhile, Ketch and Charlie are captured. Ketch is tortured for information on the location of his battalion and the number of men. When the Angel Commander (Alexander Cendese) doesn’t get the answers he wants, he tells Ketch that he brought in an expert in this matters.  Enter Apocalypse Earth Castiel.

Sam, Dean and Castiel locate the person who set Ketch and Charlie up to be captured.

Gabriel tells Lucifer that Jack isn’t like him (Lucifer); Jack has his mother’s blood line and the Winchesters’ influence. “I’ve changed,” Lucifer assures. “I’ve known you since the stars were made, you can’t change,” Gabriel says. He reminds Lucifer that he couldn’t stand that the humans were innocent and pure so he sought to tempt and corrupt them.

Apocalypse Earth Castiel goes on and on about how all the secrets from Charlie’s mind will flow from hers to his. “Until your mind will no longer exist,” Apocalypse Earth Castiel says as he puts his hands on Charlie’s head. Suddenly, Sam, Dean, Mary and Castiel burst in. Sam and Dean fight the angels and save Ketch and Charlie. “You rescuing me, it’s about bloody time,” says Ketch as Dean leads him out. Castiel faces his evil alternate self. Apocalypse Earth Castiel can’t believe that Castiel has aligned himself with these humans. “I prefer them to angels,” Castiel says. “You think you are better than me, we’re the same,” Apocalypse Earth Castiel says before being stabbed with an angel blade by Castiel.

Since everyone has decided to go to their Earth, how they’ll get everyone back in time before the rift closes? Dean notices a possible mode of transportation. “Bobby, tell me about that bus?”  Dean and Lucifer repair the bus which Lucifer will be driving. Jack still wants to stay behind to kill Michael. Lucifer manages to talk his son out of it by saying that sometimes doing what’s right isn’t always the right choice. He gloats to Sam that you just have to know how to talk with kids. The people on the Apocalypse Earth begin going through the rift. “See you on the other side bitches,” says Charlie. Rowena uses magic to keep the small doorway opened as more people come through. Lucifer wants to go with his son, but Sam says that he and Gabriel must stay behind in case something goes wrong. “You said you wanted to be part of the team,” Sam reminds. Suddenly, they are attacked by Michael’s angels.  The archangel Michael smugly asks Lucifer whether he really wants to do this (meaning fight Michael). “I think I do,” Lucifer answers. But he is quickly put down by Lucifer. Gabriel tells Sam and Dean to go. “I can buy you some time.  All I ever did on Earth was run,” Gabriel says. He fights Michael and is killed. Gabriel died a hero. Sam tells Dean to go through the rift but stops when he sees Lucifer getting up. “What are you doing man I’m hurt,” Lucifer says. “How did you think this was going to end,” Sam replies pushing Lucifer to the ground. Sam jumps through the rift but it closes before Michael can follow.

At the Men of Letters bunker, Sam thanks Rowena for keeping the door opened. “I owe you one,” Sam says.  “Don’t think I won’t collect,” Rowena responses. Dean tells Castiel how Gabriel sacrificed himself to save them. “What about Lucifer?” Castiel asks. “Sam took care of it,” Dean answers. Bobby makes a toast. Although he doesn’t know much about this Earth, it’s one without Michael so that’s a plus. Bobby says that he doesn’t want them to go soft while they’re there because the way to honor their fallen brothers and sisters is to go back, fight Michael and win. “And now a toast to our new brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester. Thanks boys, welcome to the family.”

Meanwhile back on the Apocalypse Earth, Lucifer tells Michael that he saw them do the spell and they can step through the rift. “Then I get my son and you get everything else,” Lucifer says.
