Jack (Alexander Calvert) wakes up in the Men of Letters bunker to the alarm going off. There is a fire and Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are trapped inside a room. They plead with Jack to open the door but when he tries to use his powers, Jack fails to free them.

But this isn’t real. We see that Jack is still in the Apocalypse Earth and the angel Zachariah (Chad Rook) is using mind games on the Nephilim. “Are you sure this half breed is our ticket to the other side?” Michael (Christian Keyes) asks. “Yes, and not just a single ticket with a prophet’s spell. This boy can open a rift big enough to march an army through,” Zachariah answers. He tells Michael that they just have to make Jack use his powers. “Then make him,” Michael says, “And if you won’t break him, I know someone who will.”

Meanwhile at the Men of Letters bunker, Donatello (Keith Szarabajka) is hard at work translating the Demon Tablet when Castiel (Misha Collins) knocks on the door. The angel enters with a plate and tells Donatello that Sam and Dean thought he’d like some breakfast. Donatello takes the plate thanking Castiel. The prophet adds that the tablet has an energy he’s never seen before. “Tell Sam and Dean I’m making progress,” Donatello says.

In the kitchen, Sam suggests Dean takes it easy with the nitrates. “If bacon is what kills me, then I win,” Dean says. I guess there’s worse ways to die for a hunter. Castiel enters and tells Sam that Donatello says he’s making progress, but he thinks they should be looking for Lucifer to get his angel grace.

Next, we see Castiel with Jack. He shows the Nephilim the way the world was before humans corrupted it. Castiel tells Jack that all mankind does is take but he (Jack) can show them a better way and Castiel can guide him. “What about Sam and Dean?” Jack asks. “If only they accepted you instead of teaching you to fear your powers,” Castiel answers. Jack remembers that he was with Sam and Dean the last time he used his powers and they got separated. “You’re not Castiel. None of this is real,” Jack realizes. He then finds himself back in reality with Michael and Zachariah. Michael throws Jack across the floor. “We tried it your way, now we do it mine,” Michael tells Zachariah.

Donatello excitedly comes to Sam, Dean and Castiel and tells them that he cracked the Demon Tablet and now has the spell. Sam notices that the spell Donatello shows him is different from the one in the Angel Tablet and doesn’t mention the grace of an Archangel. Most of the ingredients in the spell they have, except for the hearts of Gog (Michael Jonsson) and Magog (Andre Tricoteux). Donatello tells Sam and Dean that Gog and Magog where ancient warriors that priests used a binding spell to put them in a timeless land. He’s sure that the Demon Tablet will tell them where to find Gog and Magog. Dean and Castiel will go find Gog and Magog and cut out their hearts while Sam and Donatello will assemble the other ingredients.

Meanwhile on the Apocalypse Earth, Jack is tossed in a cell with Mary (Samantha Smith).  He tells Mary that Sam and Dean sent him. “Jack? Your mother was Kelly Kline. I was there when you were born. You should be six months old,” Mary says. She asks how Jack got there. Jack tells her and explains that Michael is in his head and wants him to open a rift to their world. Mary says that Michael is in her head as well and she’s seen what’s he’s planning. Michael wants to take an army into their world and destroy it. Jack promises Mary that he won’t use his powers to do help Michael. “I don’t care how much he hurts me,” Jack says. Mary assures Jack that Michael won’t hurt him, he’ll hurt her. That’s the reason that Michael brought him to her because he wanted them to meet and talk. Michael was hoping that Jack will do what he wants if he knows that Mary’s life depends on it.

Before they leave to find Gog and Magog, Dean asks Castiel whether he’s okay. Castiel feels guilty because he wasn’t able to protect Jack as he promised Kelly he would. And now, Michael is planning to bring war to their world because that’s what Michael does. “Then we do what we do,” Dean says as they leave. In the land where Gog and Magog reside, Castiel tells Dean that the warriors can be killed with a weapon touched by God. So, their angel blades will work. Now, Castiel speaks Enochian and the warriors appear. The men ask in Canaanite where Dean and Castiel’s armies are and then argue over who they will kill first. They decide it will be “the pretty one” but they’re equally pretty. So, it’s decided the small one. The fight begin and Dean’s angel blade is easily destroyed. Castiel explains that Gog and Magog said that their weapons were forged by Gods. Dean is able to cut off Magog’s head, killing him. Then, he kills Gog. But when Castiel goes to take Gog’s heart, he makes a discovery. “Dean, we have a problem. He isn’t human. He appears to be a primitive beast made from rock and sand.” Castiel says that he thought they went extinct during the flood. Gog and Magog don’t have hearts.

In the Men of Letters bunker, Donatello uses a bottle and knocks Sam unconscious.

Back on the Apocalypse Earth, Mary tells Jack to let Michael kill her when he comes back. Jack says that every time he tries to use his powers there, he can’t and his head hurts.  They realize that the place must be warded against humans and since Jack is half human it is preventing him from using his powers. Mary shows Jack the one place in the cell where she hasn’t experienced headaches so the warding must be weaker. Jack attempts to use his powers and it appears to be working. Later, Michael is angry when he sees that Jack and Mary have escaped. He orders Zachariah to find the boy and bring him back. “And the woman?” Zachariah asks. “Kill her in front of him and make her feel it,” Michael answers warning Zachariah not to fail him again.

Jack and Mary meet the Apocalypse Earth’s version of Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver). Bobby is surprised to see Mary Campbell. And she knows Bobby Singer from what her boys mentioned about their surrogate father. Bobby realizes that Mary means “the day travelers,” he thought she was a ghost as the Mary Campbell in that world is dead. Mary introduces Jack as a friend of the family, which is good enough for Bobby. He takes them to safety.

Dean and Castiel return to the Men of Letters bunker where they find Sam holding an ice pack to his head. Sam explains that Donatello attacked him and he (Sam) had to fight him off. Sam shows Dean and Castiel surveillance footage of Donatello locked in their dungeon talking to himself, it’s obvious he’s snapped. And Castiel explains how Gog and Magog didn’t have hearts and that Donatello wanted them to kill them (Dean and Castiel).

On the Apocalypse Earth, Bobby tells Jack and Mary how they have tricks there to keep them safe from angels. Plus as Mary Campbell saved his ass more than once, “It would be rude not to return the favor.”

Back at the Men of Letters bunker, Sam tells Donatello that he can fight whatever he’s going through.  But Donatello says that he doesn’t want to fight it. He translated the entire Demon Tablet and has all the power. And they want to use him and take it. Donatello uses a spell that causes Dean to begin choking. Sam rushes Dean out of the room.

Back on the Apocalypse Earth, Mary asks Bobby what Mary Campbell was like. Bobby tells her that Mary Campbell was a complicated woman who never made a demon deal and loss the love of her life. This was the reason she was never able to move on. “And Sam and Dean were never born.” Mary tells Bobby that she did make that deal and caused her boys a lifetime of pain. But they did stop the Apocalypse and her world becoming what his world is now. Bobby remembers how Sam and Dean wanted him to come back to their world with them. He tells Mary that he’s all his world has. When he sees Jack entertaining some children, Bobby asks whether Jack is a witch.  He’s angry to learn that Jack is a Nephilim. Bobby can’t believe that Mary brought Jack there; he trusted her. He says he wants Jack gone by morning. “If he goes, I go,” Mary says. Bobby tells Mary that’s her choice.

Sam, Dean and Castiel realize that the reason Donatello snapped and was corrupted by the evil he read in the Demon Tablet is because he doesn’t have a soul which would have served as a filter. And since Amara ate his soul, they’re unable to get it back. Castiel wants to put Donatello out of his suffering by killing him so another prophet would rise and could finish the translation and get them the spell. Knowing what he has to do, Castiel locks himself in the room with Donatello. He confronts Donatello about giving them the wrong spell. Castiel tells Donatello that he’s going to strip the spell from his mind. “I’m sorry but I’m not going to let you or anyone hurt the people I love ever again,“ Castiel tells Donatello. He places his hand on Donatello’s head and the prophet begins screaming.

The angels attack the freedom fighters’ camp. Bobby angrily blames Jack for using his powers and bringing the angels there. He tells Mary to round up any children she can find and escape through the old grain tunnel. Mary urges Jack to find a place to hide. But later when Zachariah finds Mary and demands to know where Jack is, the Nephilim appears and uses his powers. He kills Zachariah and destroys the aircrafts of the other arriving angel army. Bobby thanks Jack. “I had to come back. Sam and Dean…they wouldn’t run they’d stay and fight,” Jack says, vowing that he will kill Michael to save their world.

Sam and Dean tell Castiel that he made Donatello brain dead. Castiel says that Donatello was a danger to them and all of humanity, so he did what he had to do. War is coming and he acted. They need four major ingredients for the spell: The grace of an Archangel, a fruit from the Tree of Life, The Seal of Solomon and the blood of a most Holy man. “We find those things, we can bring everybody home. And together we can beat Lucifer and Michael. This is the only way we win and this is the only way we survive,” Castiel says, “Like you said Dean, whatever it takes.”
