We’re at Jitters as a woman cautiously leaves with her drinks. The camera spans behind her to see Cicada’s (Chris Klein) dagger light up as she passes by. He follows the woman out and before she can get in her car, Cicada appears behind her. He goes in to attack, but her hands turn into silver swords and the two battle it out. Before he can take her powers away, she stabs him in the abdomen. He tells her that she should have never existed and then kills her.

The team is at S.T.A.R. Labs listening to Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) tell them that the satellites are all back up and they’re closer to knowing where Cicada was injured. They deduct that the place where it would have had to be was wherever the levels of dark matter were at its highest– the core. If they find the core’s location, they’ll find where he was struck on the night of the Enlightenment. They think that they can track down the names of the people treated at nearby FEMA sites around that area that match Cicada’s description. Iris (Candice Patton) decides she’ll track down the core and Sherloque volunteers to go with her while telling everyone else to track down the names. But Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) wants to tag along, so that she can spend some time seeing her mom do investigative work. She’s still fascinated at seeing her mom jump off of a building. Even though Sherloque isn’t too keen on the idea, Iris happily tells Nora she can come along. With some shared smiles between Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris, the three leave to go find the core.

Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) heads to go see if Joe can help him find some of the names. Cisco and Barry decide to help Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) find her father. They’ve already tracked down the black ops sites that people have been in and they’ve located the last one that he went in and never left.

Cecille (Danielle Nicolet) is folding clothes when Ralph comes in looking for Joe. He says he’ll come back because Joe isn’t there, but Cecille stops him. He needs someone to flash a badge to get some information, but he doesn’t think Cecille can be intimidating. Offended by this, she proceeds to get on the arm of the chair to hover over Ralph and state her case on just how intimidating she can be. Ralph then says that he is intimidated now and he lets her know for what they’re going to be looking.

Barry, Cisco and Caitlin find the coordinates for the North Pole so that they can breach to the location her father was last seen. They find a building and Barry phases them inside. Caitlin says that when her father first came there he had severe ALS and maybe the reason he didn’t leave is because he couldn’t. As they walk around they see some strange things. They’re still looking around when they hear a voice say, “Caity.” They flash their flashlights and her father, Thomas Snow, emerges from the corners. The two embrace in a hug.

Thomas (Kyle Secor) acknowledges that she got his message from the periodic table and thanks them. Before Caitlin can introduce them, Thomas says that he already knows them because he stayed in contact with Louis Lincoln, Victor Fries and Harrison Wells. He says Harrison set up full access to the S.T.A.R. Labs video links. He says that he hasn’t had access to it until recently and even then it was only one-way footage so he couldn’t reach them. Cisco suspiciously asks him about the different things in the room, but he says he didn’t have use for a lot of things. Caitlin asks how he’s still alive. He says that he grew desperate and started experimenting with cryogenics and things went wrong. The experiments became dangerous and he had to quarantine himself. He managed to freeze his disease and they shut down the site before he could get out. Caitlin mentions her mother having something to do with it, but Thomas says she was trying protect Caitlin. He says he survived by rations and Caitlin tells him that they’re going to give him his life back.

Ralph and Cecille make it to FEMA. Cecille jumps right into it and tells the man she’s the district attorney. She asks him about all the people they assisted in the last six months and when he doesn’t openly offer information, she tries to assert her authority. He still rejects her and Cecile walks off upset because she’s lost her mojo.

Barry, Cisco, Caitlin and Thomas all arrive back at S.T.A.R. Labs. Caitlin says she’s going to run some tests on him and Barry suggests that they go for a walk to reconnect. They leave and Cisco voices that his story is full of holes. Barry says that Nora’s story was full of holes at first, but she’s fine now. They should just be happy for Caitlin. Cisco says okay but he’s still skeptical.

Iris, Nora and Sherloque arrive at one of the construction sites. Iris tells Nora she just thinks she should run around and see if she can find the core, but Nora wants to help her interview people. They experience some awkwardness on what to do next and, eventually, Sherloque suggests they split up and each do their own thing. Nora doesn’t find anything and Sherloque realizes that the only reason Nora’s there is to spend time with her mother. Nora admits that she’s just hoping to find something in common with Iris. Sherloque comes up with another plan that involves them.

Caitlin and her dad are taking a walk through town. They start to talk about her mother and Caitlin says how cold she is towards her. Caitlin tells him that it’s been hard and she’s been through a lot. He starts to tell her that he wants to make it up to her, but before he can finish he passes out and his arm begins to become encased in ice.

Caitlin tells her dad that it’s a sporadic mutation and if it continues he could die. He admits that every time his emotion spikes it spreads. Caitlin puts together that she also had the genetic marker for ALS and he tried to cure her. He used the experimental gene therapy on her. He asks about Killer Frost and Caitlin tells him that she’s gone for now. Cisco asks where his dual personality is and Thomas says that he doesn’t have one. That is why Caitlin is living successfully but he is dying. Caitlin decides that they can make a serum out of her cells to stabilize his body. Barry says that it could kill him, but her father tells them his cells could withstand it yet the problem is getting to absolute zero. Barry suggests a ray from the D.O.D. With some resistance from Cisco, they go off to try and hack into the D.O.D.’s system.

At the hospital, the doctor sees a trail of blood in the hall and follows it to a supply closet with Orlin inside. He’s still bleeding and she tells him that he can’t continue to go on like this. He tells her she isn’t a part of this and she needs to back off. He says Grace, his daughter, is the one that needs help. With a threat to the doctor, he leaves the room.

Cecille’s still struggling about the fact that she couldn’t get the FEMA worker to give her information. Ralph tells her a story about how criminals were always afraid of “Ce-Seal-Your-Fate” Horton. Cecile makes Ralph nervous and then realizes that the FEMA guy did the same thing.

Iris and Nora are watching on as Sherloque makes tea, which he has been doing for the past two hours. Iris then proceeds to yell at him about it. He says that it stimulates the brain. He realizes that Iris seems annoyed, but she notices a flyer from the night the satellite crashed. They think that Cicada may have brought his daughter there since Joe thinks Cicada a father. Nora thinks the core fell into the water. Iris tells her to create a vortex like Barry did when fighting King Shark, but Nora says she wants to do what Iris did with The Hotness. Nora says Joe told her all about when “her mom was a speedster.” Iris encourages and explains to Nora how to do the technique. She flashes off to get the job done.

Cisco is in the process of hacking the D.O.D., but has a revelation and decides to stop the process and hack something else. He breaches back to the North Pole black ops location where he vibes Caitin’s father using the machine he said he’d never touched before. Cisco then opens the lid finding something.

Caitlin’s in the process of creating the serum when Barry tells her he found a path into the base. Cisco comes into the room telling her that Thomas isn’t her dad and presents skin grafts to them. He tells them that instead of just crystallizing her dad’s skin, it instead created that dual personality. They think it sounds absurd, but Caitlin’s dad explains why he would think that of him. It spread more than he explained earlier. Caitlin tells Cisco to leave them alone and he storms out of the room. Barry chases after him to try and attempts to convince him to let it go. Barry tells Cisco that he just wants to give Caitlin a chance to have a father. Cisco tells him that he’s blinded by his own situation and not every instance is going to have a happy ending. Cisco tells him to start thinking about things like a CSI and not like Nora’s dad.

Cecille and Ralph talk the FEMA worker again and manage to scare him enough into giving them the information they’re looking for.

Cicada stumbles into his house still in pain from the injury he got with the meta. Before he can take anything for it, he passes out.

Barry goes to talk to Caitlin about her father, but she doesn’t want to hear what he has to say. He starts telling her about his suspicions and how Cisco may have a point. He tells her to keep an open mind because they care about her, especially Cisco. She tells them they can ask questions after she gives him the serum, but she realizes something – if she gives the serum to a cryogenic metahuman it will suppress their meta side permanently. They realize that he needed Caitlin’s cells to make the serum. They go to ask him why he did it and her father turns into his alter ego, Icicle. He blows his breath turning the liquid in their lungs to icicles and causing them to pass out. He leaves with the serum.

They wake up to find that the rest of the team has already tracked Caitlin’s dad down. He’s found a place cold enough to inject the serum. The superheros and Caitlin all rush down to try and stop him, but can’t because it’s too cold and none of them can move. Caitlin’s temperature is the only one not dropping because she still has some of Killer Frost left in her. She tries to reach out to her father, but he isn’t responding. Scared, Killer Frost reemerges and blasts Icicle. He tries to reach out to her as her dad, but it’s all a fluke and he flies off before they can capture him. Killer Frost stops the machine and everyone’s able to move again. She tells them that her dad was there but she lost him and Cisco says they’ll help her get him back. She then transforms back into Caitlin.

They still can’t find Icicle when they get back to the lab. Cisco mentions that there is something else that they should see. He tells them that Devoe never changed her meta DNA, he just created a mental block by using Brainstorm. Cisco gives her the mental activity dampener to help Caitlin hear Killer Frost. She puts them in and is able to talk to her alter ego.

Iris calls them to the speed lab. When Barry and Cisco arrive they see that they’ve found the core. They see an indent in the shape of Cicada’s dagger. Ralph and Cecille come in to tell the team that they found out that a piece of shrapnel hit a 10-year old girl by the name of Grace Gibbons. They may have found Cicada’s daughter.

The doctor goes to Orlin’s house to find him still on the floor. She says she’s going to help him and patch up his chest. He tells her that he doesn’t want her to do that because it’s making him stronger.
