Trevor (Adam Scott) is back! And along with him, his devilish antics to cause a rift between the group ensuring that they don’t unite in a way that brings out the good in them. Chidi (William Jackson Harper) is knee-deep into his near-death experience study and Trevor is now a part of it. In an attempt to annoy everyone around him, Trevor puts on an over-friendly act that turns everyone off around him.

To put an end to Trevor’s meddling, Michael (Ted Danson) and Janet (D’Arcy Carden) head down to Earth to see what they can do about this unfortunate situation. Instead of telling the Judge (Maya Rudolph) what Michael has been trying to do, Trevor decides to torture him by taking matters into his own hand. His only purpose of showing up is to keep the group from bonding with one another, but it seems Eleanor (Kristen Bell) is already irritated.

Because the study went from a one-on-one situation to a group setting, Eleanor is irked by Chidi’s attention being split and the fact that he no longer has enough time to give to just her. The entire group heads to a bar that is all things USA inclusive of cowboy hats, buffets and all sorts of references to the American culture. Even the buzzer that lets you know when a table is ready is a handgun.

Trevor is in for a surprise when he realizes the waitress is none other than Janet, who is trying to do what she can given that Michael would be recognized by the group. However, Janet is having issues of her own because she doesn’t have powers on Earth and can’t have things appear at the snap of her fingers. In the meantime, Trevor starts to mess with Chidi’s head by saying that he needs to keep a distance between himself and the study participants because it would be extremely unprofessional. And, of course, we know Chidi would begin questioning this immediately and ponder it for days to come.

Trevor also gets Jason (Manny Jacinto) and Tahani (Jameela Jamil) super drunk so that the two would end up in a situation that would bring Tahani shame because she is super conscious of how others perceive her. Eleanor decides she does not want to be a part of the study anymore, but Chidi eventually convinces her to come back anyway because it’s super important for him to have her be a part of it.

And while Michael and Janet are extremely excited over this victory, the Doorman (Mike O’Malley) appears to tell them that the Judge is waiting to talk to them. And she is not happy to see Michael in the least bit due to his multiple trips down to Earth without her knowledge. Because of all their meddling, there have been repercussions on Earth and the Judge is keen to punish them.

Things start appearing out of nowhere due to Janet trying to access her powers on Earth. It seems like she just got service and things are trying to catch up to her wishes and commands. Because this causes some space between them and the Judge, Michael and Janet take this opportunity to run out the golden door and head back to Earth.

What does this mean for Michael and Janet’s future? Tune in this week to find out!
