Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) We are a pop rock band with R&B and emo tendencies. 😜

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Personally Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, The Eagles, Queen, Justin Timberlake and The Killers

Q) What are some themes you explore on your new EP Elvis in Wonderland?

A) Freedom, Love, Lust and Reflection

Q) What songs challenged you the most creatively?

A) “Elvis in Wonderland,” “Pours in The Morning,” and “Are We High?” I think were the most out of the usual for The Higher but show a more mature sound.

Q) What tracks on the EP hold a special significance for you and why?

A) “Elvis In Wonderland” for me cause of the ties to Las Vegas and the feeling you get when you hit the strip!

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) It’s very collaborative. We don’t need music before lyrics come but I’d say most of this EP was written with music first.

Q) Mike Pepe lent a hand with the production on the EP, but how much of a say do you tend to have in the production of your music?

A) Mike Pepe is one of the kindest dudes we’ve ever worked with. He will tell you we definitely are passionate and extensive in our involvement, but we always enjoyed getting the different perspectives from himbe cause he offered a lot of great suggestions and helped each song grow and change from our demos. He also wasn’t demanding and let us try everything needed to feel confident we did things how we wanted. Great producer!!!

Q) Which of the songs off Elvis in Wonderlandare you looking forward to performing live?

A) “Pours In the Morning” and “Elvis in Wonderland.” They both have a new sound to The Higher we are excited to share!

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to your new EP as a whole?

A) That The Higher are back and still making music that makes you feel good!!!

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) Vegas always but San Diego, Seattle, St George Utah, Chicago and NYC area. Vegas is our hometown and St. George, and San Diego are close enough to get a hometown crowd and vibe. Seattle, Chicago and NYC are just really fun because they have great energy and great crowds.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Ideally, Brendon [Urie] from Panic! at the Disco, Blackbear or Hayley [Williams] from Paramore.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) New Blink-182 because it’s good to have Tom back. We felt the same way when Tom Oakes from our band helped write on these songs. The 1975 who just never miss. Great record after great record. And Ariana Grande because she’s the next Mariah [Carey] and has my favorite voice out right now.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It’s the only way to keep fans and our band connected in the last few years but excited to see faces again.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you for the constant support and download the record and we will see you all soon!!!
