“I know that things will never be the same after so much loss. And I’m sad about Josh and Ivy. But I look at you and I can’t help it…I’m happy. It just feel so selfish,” Freya (Riley Voelkel) tells Keelin (Christina Moses). Keelin assures that Josh would understand.  She reminds that they can’t change what has happened but they need to live in the moment and enjoy their happiness. Keelin suggests they get married that very day and Freya happily accepts.

Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) leaves flowers at the memorial for Bill, the priest she mistakenly killed in the court as she got rid of Emmett and his vampires. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) appears as he wanted to make sure that his daughter was alright. Hope is remorseful that she killed Bill even though it was unintentional. “At least he gets his revenge when the full moon comes,” Hope says talking about her first wolf transformation. She’s just sad that her mother isn’t there to help her through it. Even though turning into a wolf is a painful experience, Hope wishes she could just change and never change back.

Freya comes to Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and asks him to give her away at her wedding. Unfortunately for Freya, Elijah is in one of brooding moods and tells his sister that he can’t. After Freya leaves the room, we see Elijah holding an envelope from someone named Andrea. We get a flashback to seven years ago in Paris when Elijah met an attractive woman named Andrea at the bar in which he was playing the piano. Andrea was actually Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), who came to France to see Elijah but didn’t let on who she really was.

Klaus arrives at Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and Davina’s (Danielle Campbell) place. Davina reminds Klaus that she is in mourning (over Josh). Klaus explains that he is there because of Hope and needs Davina’s help.

Freya asks Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) to be her best man but Vincent declines. Vincent tells Freya that after Ivy and everything else, he can’t. He feels like he’s pushing a rock up a hill. For years he sought to keep order in the city and it was all for nothing. So, Vincent needs to get away for a while until he can get his head together.

At Rosseau’s, Declan (Torrance Coombs) reveals to Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) that he knows that he (Marcel) like Josh was a vampire because he read the truth in his uncle’s journals. Declan intends to go to the Archbishop about the supernatural creatures that inhabit New Orleans.  Marcel tries to compel Declan to forget everything he read.  But thanks to reading about vervain, the compelling doesn’t work. “The only way to stop me is to kill me,” Declan tells Marcel who punches him, knocking him out.

Davina finds Hope still at Bill’s memorial. Davina understands what Hope is going through because she once had the weight of the world on her shoulders at the age of fifteen. After Hope leaves, Davina incants a spell and bottles the teen’s tears.

Rebekah (Claire Holt) helps Freya try on wedding dresses. Freya laments that Elijah has decided not to give her away. Freya comments how the Elijah she knew would put everything he’s going through aside to be there for his family.  But he’s different now…it’s like he wants to punish himself for eternity for the part he played in Hayley’s death even though he didn’t know who she was at the time. “And that pisses me off,” Freya says. Rebekah reminds that it wouldn’t be a Mikaelson family gathering if one of them wasn’t mad at the other. “Wait until you have kids,” Rebekah says. Freya tells her sister that the conversation of children hasn’t been discussed with Keelin.  Rebekah thinks that Freya needs to talk to Keelin before they walk down the aisle. Taking her sister’s advice, Freya goes to talk with Keelin and tells her that she doesn’t think they should have children. Keelin is angry that Freya waited two hours before their wedding. Returning to her room, Freya cries to Rebekah that her sister was right…she should have told Keelin before this.  But how do you tell the person you love that you can’t have a child with her because you’re afraid that you’ll put your needs before it? Rebekah assures Freya that won’t happen because Freya has sacrificed her entire life for her family.  “We may be cursed but we’re not doomed to repeat our parents’ mistakes,” Rebekah tells Freya. She urges Freya to talk with Keelin again.

For the sake of this recap, I’m going to refer to Hayley as Andrea since that was the name Elijah knew her as when he was in France. So, Andrea goes to an art showing with Elijah and realizes that he is happy living in France. Elijah and Andrea show a romantic dance…their chemistry is undeniable.

Using Hope’s tears, Davina does another spell but the results are not what she’d hope (no pun intended).

Klaus compels a wedding planner to give up the venue another couple booked a year in advance so Freya and Keelin can get married there.  Rebekah is the bearer of bad news.  She tells Klaus about how Davina’s spell didn’t work and that the dark magic is eating Hope from the inside out. Sadly, Klaus’ daughter doesn’t have that much time left.

Keelin tells Freya that she never wanted to have kids and pass down her werewolf gene until she met Freya and saw how she was with her family. Keelin wants them to be true partners and not give her the Mikaelson “making the decisions for the both of us look.” Keelin is opened to postponing the wedding until Freya has a chance to think about whether having kids is something that is permanently off the table.  But Keelin wants Freya to be honest with her.  Crying, Freya tells Keelin that she can have kids with her someday and wants to still get married today. “If that’s what you want,” Freya says.  Keelin tells Freya that she will marry her today.

At the Mikaelson mansion, Elijah is about to walk out the door with his bag. “Where are you going?” Klaus demands. Elijah tells Klaus that he knew who Hayley was when he saw her at that farmhouse.  He explains that they had met many years ago in France and for a brief moment shared unmistakable chemistry.  But when he saw her again, all he saw was an agent of deception Hell bent on destroying those he came to regard as his family.  Elijah says that he’ll never forgive himself for not saving Hayley. “Hope is dying. And I can’t tell anybody else not today” Klaus tells Elijah. “Then I suspect that I’m the last person she needs right now,” Elijah says walking out the door.

Marcel tells Davina that he has Declan locked down because he is determined to rally up the humans. “Some things never change around here,” Davina says. “New Orleans has been at war with herself since before I was born,” Marcel tells Davina, who reminds that people like him (Marcel) need to make a change or people like Josh will keep dying. “You want to honor him after he’s dead. I’m talking about a way that would have kept him alive. Which do you think he would have wanted?” Davina asks Marcel. Heeding her words, Marcel returns to where he’s holding him and tells Declan that he’s going to give him information that will prove helpful as Declan is going to be the human’s emissary.

Although he is fashionably late, Elijah arrives just in time to walk his sister down the aisle. A lucky Keelin gets both her brothers (Elijah and Keelin) walking her towards the altar and the woman she loves. As Kol is performing the ceremony, Elijah thinks about the letter he received from Andrea in which she thanked him for the special day he gave her. She told him that he helped her to see that if she met her ex before he was burden with all his baggage, things may have turned out differently for them. But now she is able to remember the best parts of their lives together while moving on. Kol pronounces Freya and Keelin married. “You may both kiss the bride.” Hope uses her magic to turn white flowers into doves. At the reception, Klaus rushes to Hope’s side when she stumbles but his daughter is just a little buzzed by drinking champagne. Hope gives a toast to the newly married couple. Later in her room, Hope admits to her father that she is scared about turning.

In the courtyard on the Mikaelson mansion, although he is trying to keep it together the weight of Hope’s plight is getting to Klaus.  He really needs his big brother. Fortunately Elijah is there and pulls his Klaus in for a hug.  Elijah and Klaus are brothers once more.
