The episode opens with the gang trying Forrest’s (Rob Corddry) new IPA, which he describes as fruity and nutty. Delia (Michaela Watkins) agrees that it is good and cold. Forrest says that it is cold because of the fridge. Ben (Omar Benson Miller) and Wade (Walton Goggins) compliment the flavor and texture.

Wade then gets a text from Shannon with Michelle (Maya Lynne Robinson) pointing out that he seems to be happy these days. Wade agrees, even though Ben teases him about the fact that Shannon lives with her ex-husband. While they go back and forth with it, Forrest asks them to switch to wine so that he can share the beer with the guys in the office. Everyone is okay with that, but Forrest says he will make more.
Wade tells them a story about Shannon pulling a prank on her sous chef involving a lobster in his car. The gang isn’t too impressed, so they all agree to have dinner with her so they can get to know each other better.
Later on Shannon (Natalie Zea) and Wade are spending time together and drinking wine when Wade brings up the dinner. She freaks out about what to cook. He tells her she doesn’t have to cook, but she insists.
The day of the dinner Ben and Michelle are getting ready to go when she can’t find her purse. When she goes to look for it Noah (Devin Bright) comes down to complain that the little kids kicked him out for spoiling their movie. He argues that Finding Nemo is in the title so it wasn’t even a spoiler. He then goes to talk to Sahai (Princess K Mapp) and Grace (Ruby Jay), but they don’t want to speak with him either. Grace offers to get them to watch another movie with the kids, but he says he is a tween now. The girls make fun of him for using the word tween.
At the dinner everyone is chatting and complimenting Shannon’s cooking. Wade brings up some stuff she did and she asks how drunk she was when it happened. She discusses more incidents with drinking when she is asked about her son. She says he is seven years old, but Wade says he is actually eight. She begins to feel uncomfortable, so she checks on the food and everyone agrees to have a drink.
Ben goes to check on Forrest, who seems to be a bit down and commenting about the dog’s paws. It turns out the happy hour he went to with his coworkers involved edibles and he is now high due to eating too many. He asks Ben to stick close to him so he avoids acting stupid. Ben agrees to tell him to stop if necessary.
Meanwhile, Wade and Shannon are arguing because she feels as if he is embarrassed by her. He says that he wants his friends to like her and she is offended that he was worried that they wouldn’t. She is even more upset when he confesses he told them the lobster story. He continues to try and talk himself out of it when Michelle walks in, complimenting her meatballs. Shannon offers to give her the recipe. Michelle leaves with a bottle of wine and Wade tells Shannon she wasn’t embarrassing. Shannon is even more annoyed.
Forrest continues to act stoned by licking the salt off a cracker with Michelle looking at him strangely. She asks if he wants cheese with it, but he says he likes the salt. Ben tries to help him by giving him more food off the tray when Wade walks in. Delia says she likes Shannon and everyone else agrees. Wade looks at Forrest and makes a snarky comment before saying things are tense with Shannon.
The girls are doing a dance video with Natalie (Makenzie Moss) when Noah comes out of the cabinet, asking them what happened to hide and seek. They said the game ended an hour ago and he won. He grumbles that he should have stayed in the cabinet as he stalks off.
Wade goes to get more wine and try to talk to Shannon. He offers to help her cook, but she says she cooks alone. She ends up cutting his arm with the knife and he bleeds everywhere. She goes to get Delia with everyone walking in to see what happened. Forrest continues to act up, with Ben finally saying he is baked.
As Delia continues to patch Wade up, Noah walks in much to the chagrin of his parents. He tells them that he feels left out, so Michelle gives him a tablet to watch monster truck races.
Wade and Shannon talk things out and he says he was trying so hard because he likes her so much. They kiss and have make up sex.
Forrest confesses to Delia that he overdid it on the edibles and she confesses she was pressured into doing Botox at a party the year before. He is glad she understands.
Michelle and Ben wonder where Shannon and Wade went. Forrest goes to look for them when he sees them in the garage. As they talk about it the girls walk in under the guise of getting a game, but are looking for Noah. When they realize that he is there, they apologize to him and decide to treat him like a tween.
Wade and Shannon walk in with everyone smirking because they know what they were doing. Shannon is worried about the food, but Michelle tells them everything is taken care of.
The episode ends with them watching a TikTok the girls made with Noah and Forrest deciding they should make their own. As they dance, Shannon ribs Wade for thinking she was the embarrassing one.
