Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) My show “The Mick” was just picked up to series by Fox. It’s going to air next season. I worked on “Preacher” for AMC this year and last and that just aired this past weekend. I also spent four months working on a movie in Atlanta called Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life, which will be out in October. There are a couple of other things coming up as well that I can’t talk about yet.

Q) Please tell us the premise for the series “Preacher” and about your character Chris Schenck.

A) “Preacher” is based on the Vertigo comic book series. It’s a dark supernatural comedy. I play Chris, the son of Donnie & Betsey. Chris is a good kid and he’s a little ballsy with his request to the town Preacher.

Q What made you want to be a part of the show?

A) When I heard I was auditioning I was excited because my uncle is a big fan of the comic book series and collected them. I knew Seth Rogen was attached to it and that was cool, too.

Q) Was there anything you added to your role that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) I try to put myself in the character’s shoes. Seth wanted me to add a Texas accent. They also dyed my hair.

Q) What did you find challenging about the role?

A) I like playing different roles and this, for me, was different from any role I’ve ever played.

Q) Was there instant cast chemistry when you began working together or did it take some time to develop?

A) Dominic Cooper, Derek Wilson and Jamie Anne Allman were all so cool. We instantly connected. Everyone else on set was really nice, too.

Q) How involved were creators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg with the series?

A) They were right there directing the scenes. Seth told me about how when they saw my tape, they knew I was Chris. That’s a cool thing to hear from Seth Rogen.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from filming?

A) Just working with all these great actors and Seth and Evan was really memorable. Driving to set one day with Joseph Gilgun was epic. He was talking to me and giving me advice. He’s a cool guy. I remember prairie dogs running around while we were filming and it was really windy; there were sand storms kicking the sand up and around.

Q) What do you think it is about the series that will capture the audience?

A) It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before. It’s really different. After the first episode you’ll be hooked and you’ll have a favorite character.
