Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy, and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments, so keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: Chicago P.D., “Sacrifice” – Adam and Hailey decide to take a break.

After not being able to find a balance between work and a relationship, Adam (Patrick Flueger) and Hailey (Tracy Spiridakos) decided to go on a break. When Platt (Amy Morton) told Hailey, “If Adam’s the one, then make it work. But that probably means that one of you has to get out of intelligence,” I thought Hailey was going to take that advice and run with it. However, Hailey wanted to know more, which led to Platt telling her, “Then what you have isn’t worth compromising your career for.” Even before the ending scene in the episode, the break between Hailey and Platt told me that this relationship wasn’t going to make it much longer. I wonder if the tension will be worse at work now that they’ve decided to hold off on this relationship.

Comedy: The Big Bang Theory, “The Maternal Conclusion” – Acceptance and forgiveness.

When Leonard (Johnny Galecki) found out that his mom was only spending time with him because of research he became extremely upset. Beverly’s (Christine Baranski) parenting skills have definitely not been the most loving in the past, so it was nice to see the two come to a somewhat understanding by the end of the episode. Leonard accepted that things would never change by telling his mom, “If I want you to accept me for me, then I have to accept you for you.” It was a sweet scene, especially when we could see Leonard let out that breath of a weight that had been holding him down for so long. Seeing them share that vulnerable moment afterwards was just the right amount of heart needed for this relationship.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., “Missing Pieces”Coulson, is that you?

The entire episode I felt the pain of a missing Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Coulson (Clark Gregg). So, after already going through the ache of watching Jemma (Elizabeth Henstridge) almost give up hope, I was shocked in those final moments. The scene was perfectly played with a huge explosion and a dust cast over everyone. But when the dust started to clear and the truck bulldozed through the haze, seeing a Coulson (who doesn’t seem to be the Coulson we all know and love) was a bit of a shocker. Seeing May (Ming-Na Wen) look at him through the fog after having to go through the pain of losing him already hurt, but I know more pain is definitely coming. I just loved everything about that scene and it was the perfect way to end the season opener. It left me with so many questions for the season that I’m sure will be answered – following even more mind blowing questions. This season is definitely off to a dynamite start!
