Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) The best way to describe our sound would be upbeat, positive, and definitely danceable pop. Our main goal with every song we write is to spread a positive and uplifting message. Danceability is also something we try to incorporate into our music because dance is such a big part of our lives. We stay within the pop genre but are currently exploring and playing with sub-genres to see what we gravitate towards and what our audience enjoys most!

Q) Talk about the story behind “Summer Again.” What inspired the song?

A) We wrote “Summer Again” at the end of the school year when we were itching for summer break to start. We were super inspired by the 90s and wanted to bring a sort of nostalgic feel to the song. Our goal with “Summer Again” was to capture the essence of summer into a song. We hope you can use the song to create new summer memories or to look back and reminisce on old ones.

Q) How does the music video play into the message behind the single?

A) As we were writing “Summer Again” the lyrics, especially in the verses, automatically lent themselves to a visual. Right away we knew exactly what we wanted for the music video. Because the track is so 90s inspired, we really liked the idea of having scenes in a fun retro house, almost sit-com vibes. Then, the lyrics paint the picture of driving to the beach on a perfect summer day. We wanted to marry both those concepts together and that is how we created the music video. We directed, edited, produced and choreographed the video ourselves. It was such a fun process!

Q) What do you think makes the song appealing to listeners?

A) We think “Summer Again” is so appealing to listeners because of its nostalgic feel and fun, care-free energy. In a way this song almost unlocks a memory. For us at least, when we listen to the song, we are reminded of so many fun memories from the summer, like when we used to go to summer camps or on beach trips. The way we like to describe the song is that it is summer bottled up, and we think that overall vibe is what people really gravitate towards!

Q) Your other new single “Don’t Need a Reason” is an incredible, bilingual single. What does the song mean to you and why was it important for you to release it during Hispanic Heritage Month?

A) Our new single “Don’t Need a Reason” is all about the power of dance. It is also our first ever bi-lingual single. We are fifty percent Puerto Rican and were inspired to write something to pay homage and connect with our roots. We grew up dancing to Latin music and watching telenovelas at our Abuela’s house, so she was a big inspiration. Dance is such a huge part of Hispanic culture and a big part of our lives, so we felt it was the perfect connection point to write about. We knew we wanted to release “Don’t Need a Reason” during Hispanic Heritage Month because the song really is a celebration of our Latin heritage, and there is no better time to release a song celebrating Latin culture than the month dedicated to recognizing it!

Q) In what ways do you hope “Don’t Need a Reason” connects with listeners?

A) Our main hope is that it gets listeners up on their feet and wanting to dance! For us, dance has always been a way to celebrate the good or shake off the bad. Like in the pre-chorus when we sing “let it be your medicine,” for us it has almost always been a form of medicine. We hope that listeners can use this song to dance along and get through whatever they are feeling!

Q) Do you plan on releasing any more bilingual music?

A) We would love to release more bilingual music in the future! The writing process for this song was so unique and such a fun learning experience. We had never written a song in Spanish before and although we aren’t fluent yet, it was definitely a great way to work on our Spanish.

Q) You have been dubbed as the “female Hanson.” How does it feel to be compared to the iconic band and would you be open to collaborating with them in the future?

A) It is an honor to be compared to any group as iconic as Hanson. We can relate to them in a lot of ways, being siblings and starting a group together at a young age. Collaborating with them would be so cool, and we think there is so much we could learn from them and their experience.

Q) What is the process you go through while making music? Do you need music before you can come up with lyrics?

A) Our process varies, but we almost always start with the concept and overall message we want to get across. This can be based on what we’re feeling at the time, or something we really want to touch on and spread to our audience. Then, sometimes we will either come up with some lyrics or get together with our producer and create a vibe for the track. Most of the time, we like to write to a track because it helps paint the whole picture, and as we’re writing we can also visualize the dance.

Q) In addition to being a band, you are also sisters. What are some of the challenges of working together and what makes it easy to work together?

A) Doing what you love with your sisters is the best thing in the world, but like anything it can be challenging at times. The hardest part for us is getting distracted. Because we live together and can create content, write music or sing together at any time, it gets easy to push things off. However, this is when one of the major advantages comes into play. Since we are siblings, we are always able to be fully honest with each other and hold each other accountable. We know it always comes from a place of love and we will always have each other’s back. We honestly couldn’t imagine doing this without each other.

Q) Who are some artists who inspire you and which ones do you want to collaborate with in the future?

A) K-pop groups like BTS and BLACKPINK are a big inspiration to us! Dance is such a major part of our lives and is definitely a big part of our identity as a group. We love how K-pop groups incorporate dancing into all aspects of their performances and videos. Another major inspiration is Meghan Trainor. She always spreads a positive message in her music, and we would love to collaborate with her in the future!

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) You all are amazing, and we wouldn’t be here without you! Your love and support mean so much, and we’re so happy you are on this journey with us! We ❤you!
