Jessica (Sasha Lane) arrives to Philip’s (Josh Bywater) room and sees the massacre that has just occurred. She finds Grant’s (Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton) fake ID lying at the bottom of the jacuzzi and takes it with her. She then sprays something in her eyes and pretends she has been crying before stopping down by the Hotel Security office saying that she knows she has been cheated by her boyfriend but he denies it and she wants to confirm it. She begs the security guard (Ronald L. Conner) to help her and allow her to watch the cameras of the hallway where the penthouse is located. The guard seems to be reluctant at first but ends up giving in to the girl’s request. Jessica pretends that Philip is her boyfriend. She sees how he enters the room with someone else and then sees how some minutes after Grant comes running out of it. Jessica takes a picture of him and then leaves the office in a haste. The guard seems to be mesmerized by the girl and while he stares at her she is leaving. In the background the monitor shows Rod (Michael B. Woods) and Arby (Christopher Denham) getting in the elevator as the last looks suspiciously at the camera.

Later on a maid (Beatriz Jamaica) enters a room to clean it up and sees drops of blood falling from the ceiling as it is shown that in the floor above lays the body of one of the guys that Arby and Rod killed earlier that day.

Wilson (Desmin Borges) arrives with the gang at his house making noise and laughing. His father (Richard Cotovsky) and Monika (England Karam) are watching TV and the man is happy to see that his son has finally made some friends. Wilson leads the group to a bunker he and his father have built located in the backyard of the house. The walls are covered by a lot of pictures and notes about the man’s theories and there are a few racks filled with canned food.

The group is surprised to see that Wilson has taken his theories about “Dystopia” very seriously. As they speak about theories, Samantha (Jessica Rothe) draws a winged Mr. Rabbit wearing a straitjacket while sitting on a pink and white striped deer. Wilson tells them that he has discovered something new on “Dystopia” and shows Samantha the symbol that is the same that Becky (Ashleigh LaThrop) has. They are trying to figure out what it is and then Becky says that it is called the “Diels” virus. She explains what it is about and that it was also predicted in the comic two years prior the first case appeared in the real world. Ian (Dan Byrd) shows a little skepticism about it, but quickly tries to hide it when the others look at him weirdly. He confesses about the photo he took and everyone is excited to see it. They decide to print a copy of it and analyze it. In the picture there’s a child with a cross on her forehead and mouth open as a couple of drops seem to be falling over her. Becky realizes that one of the drops has the shape of a virus and they believe that a new virus is coming their way. Next to the drawing of the child Ian discovers a message that says “this is our undoing” and they get excited to know that if they get “Utopia” there is a chance that they might stop it.

The next morning we see how Dr. Kevin Christie (John Cusack) arrive to his laboratories called “CHRISTIEBIO” where he meets with Cara (Fiona Dourif), a member of his team, and Thomas (Cory Michael Smith), another member of his team who also happens to be his son. They discuss about an upcoming interview where Dr. Christie will make an announcement about one of his new products called “Simpro” which is a lab grown meat.

During the interview with Hailey Alvez (Felisha Terrell) the woman asks him about his product and also tells him that around forty children have died just right after eating his meat. This upsets Dr. Christie making him leave in the middle of the interview saying that his product is not the reason of their death.

In the meantime, Grant is on the subway and decides to drop off at a place that has a structure similar to the one shown in “Utopia.” The gang is still waiting for Grant to show up, but there are not traces of him. So, Sam suggests Becky to contact Olivia (Maya Kazan) and ask her to sell them the manuscript. The message is received by Jessica who has the woman’s phone pretending to be her and agrees on giving them the manuscript before confirming that Grant was with them, something that the group lied about just to get her to meet them. Wilson gets very upset that the girls invited the other woman to his house without knowing her well, but they ask him to calm down. Right after that they decide to go get some coffee and breakfast, but Wilson declines the invitation. As the other three leave, Rod and Arby arrive at Wilson’s house pretending to be from the gas company killing everyone on their way until they find Wilson who is still at the bunker. Rod ties him up to a chair while Arby collects salt, bleach and a spoon. He then explains that he will use each one of those things on him if he does not answer correctly to his questions. He asks him about Grant, Jessica and the manuscripts location but the man does not know about it, something that gets Arby mad so he pours salt in Wilson’s left eye. He asks the same questions again and Wilson fails to answer so he pours bleach on his eye. Finally, he asks the questions again and as it is expected he doesn’t like Wilson’s answers so he takes his left eye with a spoon. Arby leaves the place, but Rod stays there to kill Wilson.

While Arby is outside he hears a noise and realizes that Monika is there carrying some cans and offers to help her. The kid agrees believing that he is one of Wilson’s friends and then he kills her as well. In the meantime, Wilson is trying to release himself. He takes a gun and tries to kill Rod, but he is not able to see so well so he misses some shots. Right that moment Jessica enters the bunker and kills Rod with an axe. Then, she takes Wilson with her and escapes. Arby returns to the bunker only to find Rod dead’s body lying there.

Sam, Becky and Ian are on their way back to their friend’s bunker when he shows up in a car driven by Jessica and asks them to get in. Wilson seems to be over excited so Jessica shots him with heroin to calm him down as she explains who she is and saying that if they want to survive they need to go with her. She takes them to a house in the middle of nowhere and demands that they throw their phones away and burns them up. She says that from now on they will have to become into someone else to live. She goes to get them so clothes and change their identity.

Meanwhile, we see Dr. Michael Stearns (Rainn Wilson) arriving to his office. He is trying to get some budget to continue with his research, but it is denied. Dr. Stearns returns home and while he is mowing the lawn his wife Colleen (Jeanine Serralles) calls for him and tells him to watch the news where they are announcing about the kids that has died because of the flu. They see the video of the kids that have been infected and have a T-shaped rash on their faces. The woman tells him that maybe it was the virus he spoke about and encourages him to dig further.  Dr. Stearns goes back to his lab and requests some samples of the infected kids.

Jessica arrives at the house carrying all sort of things to help them change their identity. Ian is in disbelief that she is actually Jessica Hyde, but has no other choice than to obey her.

Later that day Dr. Christie is at his home cooking dinner for his family and spending time with them as he sees the interview he gave earlier that day. Before having dinner he asks to each one of the members of his family to answer the following question: “What did you do today to earn your place in this crowded world?” and after they all provide their answers they have dinner peacefully.

Back to the gang, Wilson wakes up and is surprised to see how everyone has changed over the course of a few hours. Jessica reveals that Grant is actually a kid, but the gang say they have never met him and the only communication they had was through a message board that Wilson created. Jessica asks him to try to contact him. Meanwhile, Grant shows up at a house and steals some blackberries but is caught by another child named Alice (Farrah Mackenzie) who manages to stop him from running away pulling him by his backpack and stealing the manuscript. She asks him if he is hungry and invites him in. Alice’s Mother (Crystal Fox) feeds him up and questions him if he is in the system. The kid tries to leave but the woman stops him saying that she knows how to is since that is the way she got Alice from and allows him to stay there with them.

Jessica is trying to explain what to do next, but Ian begins to question everything and saying that it’s all a lie. He gets truly nervous and tries to leave, but Sam convinces him to stay. Then, Jessica shoots Sam in the head and kills her saying that a group cannot have two leaders and asks them to listen to her saying “You are in a new world now. Mine.”
