Jessica Hyde (Sasha Lane) is forcing the gang to stay with her as she goes to the bathroom just to stop them from running away from her. The woman points a gun at them and makes them wait until she finishes. Right after she tells them they have to go to a funeral, and they think that she might want to do something for Sam (Jessica Rothe). She immediately lets them know that they are attending a different one – Olivia’s (Maya Kazan) funeral. When they arrive to the place she asks Wilson (Desmin Borges) and Ian (Dan Byrd) to stay in the car while she and Becky (Ashleigh LaThrop) go in. Wilson asks her to give him a new napkin for his eyes since the one he’s got is soaked with blood, but the woman tells him to stop complaining and get used to it. The pair enter the place and Becky goes straight to a woman (Jennifer Joan Taylor) and offers her condolences. The young girl immediately starts to gather some information from her and the woman confesses that the reason why Olivia was murdered was because she was at the hotel attempting to sell her grandfather’s stupid comic he got from the asylum where he worked at and believes that it must have been a gift from a patient. She confesses that one of the patients drew the comic while being in art therapy class. Becky tries to dig further and manages to make the woman confess that the asylum was located at River Park but was burnt to the ground years ago. She lies and tells the woman that she is Dutch and it is tradition for them to leave some flowers at the deceased people’s houses so she gets Olivia’s address. At this point Jessica and Becky are completely unaware that outside Ian and Wilson have been attacked by a couple of redhead men [Adam Shalzi and Chris Clowers] demanding to know Utopia and Jessica Hyde’s location. When Jessica and Becky come out of the funeral they see what is happening and Jessica shoots the two of them leaving them dead in the parking lot. They head to Olivia’s house where Becky confesses to Ian the real reason why she is after Utopia – she has the Diels virus and it’s killing her. Meanwhile, in the other room, Wilson is able to find more drawings and the picture of the artist who turns out to be Jessica’s father.

They go back to the car where Jessica is into pieces after discovering that her dad died at the asylum. When they arrive to the house Jessica hides in a cabinet while crying, screaming and mourning her father’s death. In the meantime, Grant (Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton) and Alice (Farrah Mackenzie) take a look at the comic while the kid explains to the little girl a little bit of the story. The young girl mentions that a building from the comic is very similar to one located downtown. Alice’s Mother, Kim (Crystal Fox), calls them from downstairs and Grant asks Alice to borrow him her laptop to contact some friends. Later on, while they are having breakfast, Alice’s mom invites him to go with her daughter to school but the kid declines. He asks her why she is helping him and she says that is all because he deserves it. The woman and the girl leave the house and Grant tries to get away taking Alice’s laptop and some drawing from her room, but when he is about to leave he finds a bag with blackberries in it. So, he regrets what he’s done and returns everything that he took.

Meanwhile, at CHRISTIEBIO, the FBI and Toni Tambler (Gloria Coco) from the FTA pay a visit to Dr. Christie (John Cusack) to announce that they will stop his “Simpro” production to test it for the virus. Dr. Christie asks them to allow them to continue with the production while they test it, but Toni completely denies it.

On the other hand, Dr. Stearns (Rainn Wilson) has finally received the samples of the kids infected with the virus and discovered that his vaccine might be the cure for the virus. However, he needs to officially test it first before applying it to children so he goes straight to his wife Colleen (Jeanine Serralles) to tell her the good news. Back at the house the gang realizes that Grant has left a message for them asking them to meet him at a certain location at 8pm. Then, they hear a noise and see that Jessica has decided to come out of the cabinet and the woman is surprised to find them still there. She confesses that she knows her father is not dead and keeps repeating some specific words to herself over and over as a reminder or trying to make some meaning out of it. She decides to leave in search of Artemise and asks Becky to go with her, but Ian offers himself as a companion instead.; Jessica warns them that if any of them try to escape she will kill Ian without hesitation.

Dr. Stearns is taken by Dean Patty Richardson (Tyla Abercrumbie) to Dr, Christie’s office to discuss about the vaccine, but Dr. Christie is quick to let him know that they won’t go under any trials and will immediately start to produce it – something that doesn’t suit very well for Dr. Stearns but he is not taking in account for it and is dismissed from Dr. Christie’s office saying that if he doesn’t sign the authorization for the vaccine production, someone else will. Dr. Stearns returns to his house feeling truly mad and frustrated. He packs his bags and leaves for St. Louis to fight for what is right.

Wilson cuts a cereal box to make a patch for his eye out of it while Becky tries to figure out the location that Grant provided for them to meet later that day. They begin to reminisce when they were just a group of “Utopia” fans discussing about the comic book and are surprised how their reality has changed so quickly. They see Sam’s body lying there and decide to cover her with the living room curtains and make a small funeral for her. In the meantime, Ian is driving Jessica to Wonderland where she is sure she will find her friend Artemise. Wilson and Becky manage to figure out the location where Grant is supposed to meet them and also find the keys to a car and go in search of the kid. Jessica and Ian arrive to an abandoned and shady place. The man begins to yell at her for killing Sam and everything she has put them through. Then, someone comes out of a cardboard box sort of shelter and punches him in the face.. It is revealed that it was actually Artemise (Camryn Manheim) who did it. Jessica greets her happily and tells her what she found out about her father and the other woman confesses that she already knew about it and assures her that her father is dead. Jessica gets terribly mad at her for lying, something that gets so much worse when Artemise confesses her that she was the one who ordered her father to be murdered for the girl’s sake. Jessica punches her and takes to an isolated place followed by Ian.

Grant is waiting for the group to meet him when a cop (Michael Accardo) spots him there looking nervous and questions him about his parents. Meanwhile, Becky and Wilson are stuck in traffic. The woman gets desperate and decides to leave the car to go find the kid. Since Grant gets defensive, the cop decides to take him to his car but then Becky arrives pretending to be his mother and takes him with her. The kid is so happy to meet her that he hugs her tightly, much to Becky’s surprise.

Dr. Stearns arrives to a Quarantine Response Center where a group of people awaits outside demanding to be allowed to see their relatives. He also asks to be allowed inside, but with no success at all. Back to Jessica who is determined to kill Artemise and asks her to let her know her she can find “home.” However, the woman replies that she can only find it in “Utopia.” Artemise confesses that she is tired of keep running and believes that they will find her sooner or later. She asks Jessica to kill her. While she is trying to choke Artemise, Ian stops her from doing it and the two women begin a fight. Finally, Jessica manages to kill her and then realizes that under her nails Artemise has tattooed some numbers that might be a code that could help her find her father.

At Dr. Christie’s home he is sitting at his office looking pensive when his wife Laura (Rebecca Spence) arrives and tries to comfort him by saying that he should not blame himself for the kids’ deaths. After she leaves the office, a knock can be heard on the door and shows Arby (Christopher Denham) on the other side of the glass. Dr. Christie lets him in. He takes a package of candies out of a drawer, gives it to him and they sit on the floor in front of each other. Arby gives him an update about what’s been happening and gives him a picture of Grant and Jessica as well as the picture of one of the pages of the manuscript. He promises that he will find Jessica and “Utopia” for him. Then, Dr. Christie asks him: “What did you do today to earn your place in this crowded world?” Arby begins to list all of the people he killed along the way. They stand up and share a hug.
