Q) Talk about Doc stache and how long it is going to stick around.

Varun: I will to say that you will say farewell to it eventually. [laughs] It’s not going to be in the whole season. It gets a good shelf life on the show. I came back from traveling with like a full beard. Emily [Andras] was like, “I can give you a mustache if you want, but I can’t let you keep the whole beard.” I was like, “Okay, fine. Why not?” So, I ended up having a mustache for a couple months. And it was the exact same as Tim Rozon’s so when ever we went out together people were very confused. They were like, “Is this a thing? Is this a fashion choice? Should we do it?” I really enjoyed having a mustache, but I wasn’t sorry to see it go.

Q) What is the Doc/Jeremy relationship like this year?

Varun: It becomes something really beautiful this season. Doc becomes his mentor and kind of like his older brother. I think that Jeremy has a crush. I mean, Jeremy would obviously sleep with the dude. He also really looks up to him and when he gets a bit lost at times Doc is kind of the anchor for that.

Q) It seems they are paired up a lot more this season.

Varun: Yeah, I think we’re going to see a lot that. Definitely more than last season. It was really great to do a lot of those moments with Jeremy going this season.

Q) What can you tease is in store for Jeremy this season?

Varun: Potatoes! [laughs] That’s all I can say.

Q) Will we get to see more of Jeremy’s backstory?

Varun: You’ll know a bit more, but you’ll still have a lot of questions.

Q) What has it been like for you to be a part of the show’s growth?

Varun: It’s actually pretty crazy taking in Comic Con this year versus last year.  We have even more interviews and more press. The fanbase is growing more substantially. It’s crazy to see it grow this much. We were in the New York Times! That’s insane! I feel really proud to be a part of a show that flies under the radar and yet is still so meaningful to so many people. Now, it’s like the cool kids watch it. The people in the know watch the show and it makes me really proud and happy.

Q) What are you most excited for fans to see this season?

Varun: So much! I love this season so much. It’s so dark this season and all the characters do things that are out of their nature – some say. So, I’m just kind of excited for you guys to see where the characters go. Everyone gets a really good meaty part. I’ll say Episode 2 changes the rules for everything. Episode 2 will have you like, “What the hell?!”

Q) What SYFY series would you like to see make a crossover with “Wynonna Earp?”

Varun: Yeah. That’s a great idea. I don’t know if I watch any other ones, but I always kept thinking “The Magicians” would somehow fit into our world because I know the premise of it. It could be something that could crossover.

Q) Are there any characters you would like to see Jeremy interact with more?

Varun: Yes, that’s sort of the fun thing about Emily’s writing is that she will pair random characters together and there’s always some sort of drama or plot twist. I’m really excited for you guys to see Jeremy and Wynonna. It’s like some of my favorite scenes to do. Melanie Scrofano is an incredible actor. You get to see some of their relationship, which has always been a bit hit or miss. I think there is some really good stuff there.

Q) How would you say that Jeremy has changed the most this season?

Varun: I think the mustache. He’s got the mustache, first and foremost. [laughs] I don’t know. I think he’s becoming more of an adult. Just the way you saw him talking in Episode One to Doc. I think you’ll see a lot of that from Jeremy and maybe Jeremy has a romance. I don’t know…We don’t know…
