HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

It is October 31st and to celebrate I am going to suggest some web series that just may cure your spooky craving on Halloween.

DARKEN, BEFORE THE DARK:

This is a science-fiction horror thriller. What is “The Darken?” When someone dies from a horrible trauma they are sent there. It is a place without end and where upon arrival all you remember is your name. The Darken was supposed to be a safe place. It was supposed to be a place free from any pain or fear or danger. It was supposed to be, but it isn’t any more. Darken is a place that was once a safe haven is now a place of unpredictable cruelty and danger. Before you couldn’t die in the Darken and now no one is safe. So, if you want spooky, if you want scifi, if you want death and cruelty and if you want to make the hairs on your skin stand straight up then Darken, Before the Dark is the web series for you.

All eleven episodes of the digital series are now available on YouTube.

CARMILLA

This may be my all-time favorite web series.  It has it all. It has vampires, redemption, shape shifting magical libraries, fish gods, Gods of Death, possession, etc. Believe me, it has it all! I cannot say enough good things about this series or the amazing talents that star in it, created it and directed it. This series is frankly good for any and all holidays, but I especially like it for Halloween because of all the things in it that go bump in the night. It has good versus evil. It has what look to be insurmountable odds and limitless hope. It truly has everything you could ever look for in a series! The only thing it is possibly missing is a musical number…

All of the seasons can be found on YouTube.

TOTAL PARTY KILL

Have you ever wondered how you and your group of friends would fare in a zombie apocalypse? Would you be the hero? Would you be the leader? Would you be the researcher? Would you be the friend in need of saving or would you simply be zombie fodder? Me, I would like to think I would be the brains, but most likely I would totally be zombie fodder. In fact, I would probably be the first to fall in my group of friends because I would go out of my way to protect them. But, then again, I do not have the skills of a fighter and would no doubt fail in my virtuous heroic and ill thought out venture to protect and save all of the people that I love. Bleak right? Also, honest.

I would be completely remiss if I did not include Total Party Kill in this Halloween suggestion list. This series always had me on the edge of my seat. And for those of you who need a little romance to go with your horror, no worries as this has it in spades.

LAST LIFE

I am a complete sucker for destined and doomed romance. I also cannot get enough of witches and warlocks, especially around Halloween. This series follows the story of two warring covens – one the light, the other the dark. In the prophecies, one witch from the light is the destined soul mate to the most powerful and dangerous witch from the dark. Spells, memory loss, fate, murder, escape, reincarnation and love – this series has them all in spaded. The effects are also impressive. The storyline of this series is dark, and I had no idea how it would all turn out. So, if you are like me and you need some witches and warlocks to make your Halloween complete and love a good fight between good and evil, then you should definitely check out this series.
