What? V Morgan is Dead

Who? Written by SJ Sheppard and Mika Collins. The series stars: Tara Joshi, Andy McQueen, Conrad Coates and Jenny Raven.

Why Should I Watch? V Morgan is Dead is a web series from KindaTV brought to life by RBC Royal Bank. Before airing, the series was for the most part a mystery. The trailer, in my opinion, is a bit dark as some pretty spooky commentary by lead Violet ‘V’ Morgan (Tara Joshi) sets the scene while she receives a tattoo.

The first episode sets the premise for the series as V dies unexpectedly and is met by the Morpheus like, Alistair Benson (Conrad Coates) on the Sixth Floor of her afterlife who offers up a cup of tea. Are you hooked yet? If not, just wait it gets better.

Welcome to the Sixth Floor V.

But before Alistair can explain to V what’s going on, they’re interrupted by Andrew (Andy McQueen) an employee of the Sixth Floor.

Fast forward to the second and third episodes where V finds an escape and quickly flees only to find herself in a cubicle like setting where she is shortly joined by Andrew and Jenna (Jenny Raven). Still in panic mode, V’s offered yet another cup of tea (seriously what’s up them and tea?), which this time she accepts. Meanwhile, Jenna and Andrew break the news to V of her death and afterlife.

Pinkies up! Or not...

Mmm teaaaaa

For all intents and purposes, the Sixth Floor is a place of employment for those who have passed on. But not everyone is sent to the Sixth Floor, only certain individuals are and V is just that.

Andrew fills V in on what really happens on the Sixth Floor and explains his role as a Fixer. Fixers repair missed connections between people so that they can go back on their life path. He shows V an example from one of his memories where he goes back in time to help save a man, who in turn saves a little girl. Therefore, he has fixing his life path. In exchange for these assignments, Fixers are then let off the hook.

All you need to do now is sign on the dotted line.

After all the news sinks in, V has a sit down with Alistair to go over the fine print of her contract. He offers her three probationary assignments and then she’s free to live her life again. However, all contracts come with a few rules and Fixers are no exception. Fixers live by three rules:

  1. No one must ever of the Sixth Floor
  2. Security will follow Fixers on the Sixth Floor and in the real world
  3. Any missteps will cause ripples, leading to disruptions of the path around you

Failure to abide by these rules will result in being erased – meaning her life would be erased from the timeline.

If the plot hasn’t hooked you just yet, take a look at the official V Morgan is Dead website. The promotional work alone for the series has been outstanding. KindaTV launched an exclusive kick-off event to the Sixth Floor where live tattooing was done and more.

So what’s a girl to do? Check out V Morgan is Dead and find out for yourself because there’s a lot more going on than what meets the eye.

Where Can I Watch? The series just aired the finale episode on March 10th. There hasn’t been word if a season two is in order, but in the meantime you can binge the 20-episode series now, on KindaTV. Be sure to subscribe and follow the series on Twitter as behind-the-scenes vides are still being released!
