Q) How would you best describe your sound?

A) Genreful

Q) Who are your top three musical influences?

A) The Beatles, The 1975, John Mayer

Q) Tell us the story behind your latest single “She’s Hot.”

A) It’s about my girlfriend’s best friend. She was having a tough time and we had quite a few chats about it. She really is so great but was stuck in several bad situations. I wrote the song to cheer her up and reassure her that her situation wasn’t really her fault.

Q) The lyric video for “She’s Hot” has a fun collage-type feel to it! How did you decide upon the concept for the video?

A) When I was making it, I was thinking about those coming-of-age movies from the 90’s and 00’s and thought of the cutout gossipy vibe of Mean Girls. So, that’s really where the idea came from. [smiles]

Q) The song dropped June 3rd. What has been the overall reaction to “She’s Hot” from fans and listeners?

A) Oh, everyone has been so lovely about it. I hope that it continues to register with people in a positive way. It’s a great summer tune to put on in the car with the windows down!

Q) With the release of “She’s Hot,” is there a full-length album in the works and if so, what can fans expect from that album?

A) I’m working through the follow up to Everything Will Be Okay right now and hope to have it finished before year’s end. Like I said before, I try for my music to be kinda whatever sound fits the song. This new record follows that principle pretty closely. Very eclectic.

Q) What do you think it is about “She’s Hot” that’s going to make it a fast fan favorite track?

A) I think the chorus is pretty catchy. [smiles] But I also feel like everyone needs a reminder that they are hot. I hope that’s the takeaway.

Q) As a Beatles and a huge George Harrison fan, I love your homage to him with the song “George Harrison.” What are some of your favorite George Harrison songs (Beatles or solo) and what makes them so special to you?

A) Thank you for listening to GH! The purpose of that song is to actually say that I’m more of a fan of Paul than George though. I love George, but he’s “better in comparison to all three minus Paul.” Some of my fav solo George songs are “What Is Life,” “Isn’t It A Pity” and “Love Comes To Everyone.” [smiles]

Q) Are there any plans for a 2022 Tour to promote your new single?

A) Yes! I’m always playing shows here and there. As I am typing this, I’m playing in DC tonight. But there will be a larger West coast run at the end of the summer and hopefully a fall run in October-November.

Q) Which songs are fan favorites during a live performance?

A) Definitely “Why Won’t You Be My Girl?” and our cover of “California Gurls” by Katy Perry.

Q) If you would collaborate with anyone on a new project, who would it be and why?

A) Paul McCartney of course! Or any member of The 1975. They are my heroes.

Q) What would you like to say your fans and supporters of your music?

A) I just wanna say thanks for giving it a shot and listening to my songs. I work for months and months trying to perfect the mixes and stuff, so it’s great when those songs eventually make it into peoples’ lives.
