Young & Hungry: Young and Yacht’in

The series finale opens with Gabi (Emily Osment), Sofia (Aimee Carrero), Nick (Chris Smith) and Josh (Jonathan Sadowski) on a yacht. This is a special vacation planned by Josh, who recently brought said yacht. Yolanda (Kym Whitley), Elliot (Rex Lee) and Alan (Bryan Safi) are also there. The boat is named the Dock.com, but Yolanda doesn’t like that name. However, the name is already painted on the boat. 

 

Everyone explores the boat when Josh asks Nick to talk to him in private. He pretends he needs lawyer, which confuses Nick and makes him wonder what he did. 

 

Yolanda sees the captain of the boat (Chris Williams) and is immediately smitten. She begins to hit on him. There is a bit of a flirtation until she sees him with a wedding ring, causing her to make up an excuse to leave. 

 

Josh takes Nick aside and shows him a box which has a ring inside. He plans to propose to Gabi and needs Nick to keep the ring safe. Nick congratulates him and hugs him, while also calming him down. He also asks if Josh considered a prenup. 

 

Alan and Elliot get served drinks by a cute guy, each one thinking that he was flirting with them. They plan to find out….and to see if they are those kinds of guys.

 

Josh comes to talk to Gabi when Sofia comes over with drinks. Josh says he has another surprise for Gabi…her favorite chef Alex Guarnaschelli is on the boat. Gabi fangirls and hugs her, causing her to cut her hand. 

 

Nick is hiding the ring when his phone rings. He is working on a case when Sofia walks by, seeing him hide the ring and hearing him talk about taking care of someone and keeping them out of jail. 

 

Chef Alex and Gabi are cooking together. Chef Alex is so impressed with her that she offers her a job as a sous chef in her new restaurant on Pioneer Square. Gabi is naturally excited that her hero wants to be her mentor. The catch; however, is that she will have to move to Seattle. 

 

Gabi goes to tell Sofia about the job, while Sofia goes to tell her that she thinks Nick is a drug smuggler. They fill each other in on what just happened to them while Sofia drags Gabi to Nick’s room to spy.

 

Yolanda and the Captain meet up again, when he reveals that his wife died five years ago. He plans to scatter her ashes today. When he goes inside to check the PH balance in the Jaaccuzi, Yolanda begins talking to and fooling around with the urn. She ends up spilling some of the ashes overboard and decides to replace them with her stash of Mary Jane. 

 

Elliot and Alan plan their threesome with the waiter, but realize they don’t know how it works….but it is like a bagel…top, bottom and schmear. The waiter comes and offers them a quick nosh to get energy for later.

 

Josh and the Captain talk about the proposal. Josh is still nervous, and the Captain tells him he felt the same way. Josh thanks them and they do a secret handshake.

 

Sofia and Gabi get the box. As Gabi opens it, Sofia freaks out asking what kind of drugs are in there—but ends up also naming cereals. They find the ring and they think Nick is proposing to Sofia. She plans on saying yes because, despite how quickly things are going, she loves him. She drops the ring in the ocean in her excitement and goes overboard to get it with Gabi going after her.

 

The girls are out of the water with the guys. Josh is seemingly about to propose when Gabi spills the beans about her job. Josh tells her to take it as the fireworks go off. 

 

Sofia tells Nick she will accept his proposal. He is about to tell her the truth when Josh congratulates them. 

 

The Captain tells Yolanda they are going back to San Francisco so they are going to scatter the ashes now. She freaks out and distracts him long enough to refill the urn.

 

Sofia calls her mom to tell her about the engagement, when Nick hangs up the phone and tells her the truth about how Josh was going to propose to Gabi. Gabi freaks out and goes to find him. Nick apologizes to Sofia, who says they have only been dating for five weeks. Nick tells her it has been six but who is counting. They go off to have sex.

 

Gabi finds Josh at his house. He is upset because he was scared when she went overboard and wanted her to be ok. He realized then he wanted to be with her…but then she told him her news. Josh says he cannot stand in the way of her dreams and won’t propose. She argues with him and says she wants to be a chef but wants him with her as well. She proposes to him saying she will take the job, but wants them to get married so he can come with her to Seattle.

 

The show ends with Yolanda and The Captain making plans to meet in his quarters, while Alan and Elliott prepare for their threesome. They end up in bed with Yolanda and with The Captain trying to join them. They all scream, and Yolanda hits him with her wig.
