Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe it as indie, journalistic, warm and empowering.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I grew up listening to a lot of classic rock records. My musical taste is all over the place. I love Phoebe Bridgers, Wolf Alice and The Eagles… I have so many inspirations!

Q) What’s the story behind your latest single “Fade Away?”

A) “Fade Away” is about what it feels like to wade through childhood traumas and growing pains as you work your way to and from different chapters in your life. It’s about looking towards something better while also embracing the process that it takes to get there.

Q) You released a stripped-back video for your single “Fire.” How was the video production different from other music video shoots you’ve done?

A) It was set up very organically, just a direct in for my guitar and vocals. Essentially just a pre-recorded live performance that had a couple of different camera angles. It was shot at the Nile Theater in Mesa, Arizona. I wanted it shot with the empty room in the background because I miss the live music environment so much.

Q) Your first single debuted in 2018. Has your songwriting style changed since then?

A) I’d say I’ve gotten to know myself better since then. I listen to myself and trust myself a lot more than I used to which I’m proud of.

Q) What is your songwriting process like? Do you write the melody before lyrics or does it change every time?

A) Typically, I find a chord progression I like and sing a melody over that. I usually mumble some lyrics until I find what I want to say.

Q) Is there a genre that you’d like to explore with your music in the future?

A) I’ve always wanted to explore electronic music more because it’s not my natural habitat. I love collaborating though, so I’m open to lots of possibilities!

Q) You were inspired from a young age by your father’s 70s record collection. What are your favorite artists from that era?

A) Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones…

Q) With live performances on hold or drastically scaled back, what do you miss most about performing for a crowd?

A) I miss the energy exchange of performing live. As grateful as I am that we can still use streaming platforms it just isn’t the same.

Q) If you had the opportunity to collaborate with any other current artist, who would you choose to work with?

A) Phoebe Bridgers

Q) Who are some artists that you’re currently listening to?

A) Tame Impala, Tyler Childers, Maggie Rogers and Father John Misty.

Q) Anything else you’d like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my music. I hope it can be a friend to you.
