Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Country Music crossover to pop

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Dolly Parton, Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Hometown Heart.”

A) “Hometown Heart” is a continuation of my journey. I come from a small town in Florida but have traveled a lot over the past four years working. It’s my story of staying grounded and remembering where you came from. There truly is no place like home.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) Most of the response has been that I’m so positive and humble. Fans like to see me being me. It’s relatable. It’s a fun, upbeat good mood song.

Q) The song was co-written by Jamie Floyd. Talk about your time working with her.

A) It was AMAZING. Jamie shares a lot of similar experiences and we just clicked. She really worked with me and made me comfortable sharing and contributing to the writing. She works with so many talented artists, I feel blessed that she wanted to work with me!

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video is shot on our close family friends’ 100+ acre ranch (Rocking KP Ranch) – needed to give Mr. Kyle his plug! [laughs] Not only did the Patterson Family share their land for filming, they made cameo appearances as well as my little heart and soul Makenna who is my five year old niece. The message is me being me spending time doing what I love with the people I love the most family & friends.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I began journaling. We then used that to create lyrics, as well as incorporating things I have experienced. The melody is kinda of a process. Sometimes we already know and play off it or we come up with it as we write. My producer then makes the magic happen after I record with additional ad libs, instruments and such.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I would say a good amount. My team and I meet to discuss the direction of the songs and what we are looking for as far as sound. Once recorded it is then in the hands of the producer to put it all together. I get final approval.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) 2021 is about to hear a lot of music being released from me! We have four songs coming out with videos.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to do something with Jamie Floyd. She is an amazing artist. Also collaborating with Kasey Musgraves would be a dream.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Tate McRae is awesome! I really listen to a lot of different types of music. I am constantly on Spotify looking to hear new songs.

Q) We loved seeing you on “Chicken Girls.” What do you love most about working on this series?

A) Working with Brat was a great experience. I enjoyed working with the entire cast and we all became close. We joke how most of us grew up watching the LeBlanc Family as one of the first true YouTube Families to make history and now we are all working together. Billy Leblanc was a big supporter of mine and he is the reason I was on “Chicken Girls.” I miss my Brat Family.

Q) You were in both of Dolly Parton films Coat of Many Colors and Christmas of Many Colors. Did you get to spend any time with the icon and if so, what advice did you she give you about making country music?

A) Dolly arrived on set one day for shooting but the locals found out, so they closed set. She is amazing. Her sister filmed with us and we all lived the hotel life together for a month each time. Dolly would call and speak to all of us. The Parton family is exactly what you see real good people! Stella Parton loved to pull out her guitar and have singalongs with us.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) There is a lot of bad that can be found on social media, but there is also a lot of good. I want to be a part of the good. Sharing positivity and lifting followers out, letting them know I’m a real person and happy to listen.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) THANK YOU!!! Without ALL of you I would not be where I am. My fans are so kind and loyal. I do my best to express this, often sharing their edits and words of kindness. I see ALL of you and appreciate you.
