Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A)  I wrapped His Perfect Obsession and on the same day I flew to Winnipeg to shoot the Fox 2000 feature Breakthrough with Chrissy Metz. It’s based on the book The Impossible by Joyce Smith and is a true story about a mother’s faith and a child’s resurrection.

I also had my first starring role in the independent feature The Corruption of Divine Providence about a sixteen-year-old stigmatic girl who is kidnaped from a small French-Canadian town and different religious factions vie for control over her upon her eventual return.

Q) Your latest project is the Lifetime movie His Perfect Obsession. How did you get involved in the film?

A) I read the script for the movie and thought that this story would be amazing to tell, and I felt like me and Abigail had a lot in common, so I did a taping for the role as I’m based in Vancouver and the casting for the movie was in Ottawa. Then, I went out to LA for pilot season and the day after I arrived they called and said I booked the movie.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the movie?

A) When I was younger I did most of my training with one acting coach in Vancouver and for the anniversary of the acting studio where she taught she asked me to perform a piece of the movie The Miracle Worker with her. Playing Hellen Keller was very challenging for me and ever since then I’d hoped to book something similar that would challenge me as an actor in the same way.

Q) How was your character Abigail originally described to you?

A) She was originally described to me as an intelligent and observant girl whose recent loss of eye sight has made her have a unique way of looking at the world and experiencing new things. She is her mother’s best friend and her Mother (Arianne Zucker) is hers and she never holds back about her opinion on her mom’s choices.

Q) Was there anything you added to Abigail that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) Um, it’s hard to remember what was scripted and what wasn’t sometimes but the director and I would always chat about certain lines or things that didn’t feel quite right and we would figure out a better way to say things. As an actor I feel like you almost always add little things here and there that you yourself would do in your everyday life.

Q) Lifetime movies have their own special flair and style. Did you watch any of the other movies (like Accused at 17, Betrayed at 17, Stalked at 17, etc. ) before shooting this?

A) No, I did not but I have filmed Lifetime movies before and seen Lifetime movies my older sister has done so I’m very familiar with their style, which I love.

Q) Talk about working with costar Arianne Zucker.

A) Ari was the best mom I could have asked for to go on this journey with. We had such an amazing connection from the first time we met which made playing mother and daughter incredibly easy. I never stopped learning from her and admiring her throughout the whole shoot.

Q) What advice did director Alexandre Carrière offer during filming that you took to heart?

A) I absolutely adored Alexandre and he was one of the people who made this process so easy for me. He always knew what to say, and his notes were always very clear and effective. Almost everything he said I took to heart because I could tell how passionate he was about this story and all the characters involved.

Q) What was the tone of the set? Was it as intense and serious as the movie?

A) At times I think it definitely could be, but for the most part we all got along so well that we would have to force ourselves to stop laughing and be serious.

Q) What were the most fun and the most challenging parts of this role?

A) Well, I think that being blind was definitely the biggest challenge about this role and the most fun would be how me and my other cast mates could all creatively work with each other so well.

Q) What do you think it is about His Perfect Obsession that is going to make it a fast Lifetime favorite?

A) I think that His Perfect Obsession is a movie that is going to constantly keep you on your feet. You are never going to be bored and you are always going to want to know what happened next and I think people are going to really enjoy that.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant fan feedback you’ll receive to the movie?

A) Of course. I love when people get to see my projects and enjoy watching them, and I love when people share that with me.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your projects?

A) I LOVE YOU!!! [smiles] Your constant love and support to me never goes unnoticed. Thank you.
