Q) It was touched on a bit during the show, but how did you get your start working on yachts?

A) My long-term goal that I had when getting into boating was to campaign with marine conservation organizations, specifically Sea Shepherd, but I wanted to come on board with skills. So, I did my Divemaster and worked as deckie/skipper on dive boat and then went on to work as a deckhand on smaller motor yachts. Parsifal III was actually my first super yacht AND first sailing yacht. I only ever knew motor yachts (not to mention my first interior position!).

Q) What made you want to be a part of “Below Deck Sailing Yacht?”

A) I actually was contacted by the casting director on my scuba diving Instagram page. When I saw the DM I thought, “No way! This can’t be real because I have been a fan of the show since Season 1.” I wanted to stay on deck initially, but they asked if I would work in the interior for the sailing season and I was up for the challenge. I’m so glad I did because I had the best crew I could have ever asked for!

Q) Had you been a fan of the show or familiar with it before joining the cast this year?

A) I actually have watched “Below Deck” since day one! The show even inspired me to get into working on the white boats when I started on dive boats, so I was so excited to be a part of the franchise.

Q) Were there any certain parts of your life you deemed off limits to the camera?

A) I think it’s safe to say I was pretty raw and open the entire season! From grieving the death of a family member to having a romance on TV, I was quite open. It’s been hard to relive some moments months later, especially the phone call from my Dad when Pa passed away.

Q) Talk about your background in sailing yachts.

A) This is my first sailing yacht! And my first super yacht and my first interior job, so I was definitely out of my comfort zone. I have only worked on deck on smaller motor yachts.

Q) We saw Gary [King] express an interest in you early on. Was there a spark for you as well?

A) Not initially, to be honest. I thought he was fun and funny and charismatic, and I enjoy a flirt so that’s how our chemistry began, just harmless flirting. But that then turned into real life chemistry and made for a very complicated season for me!

Q) At first it seemed you might be interested in him. Was his night with Sydney [Zaruba] what changed your mind about him?

A) I was definitely having fun flirting, but it takes me a little bit to warm up to someone. When I heard he and Sydney “kissed,” I totally wrote it off and thought I must have just mistook friendly banter. It definitely surprised me they spent the night together!

Q) Daisy and Natasha butted heads frequently. Did it affect the crew at all?

A) Daisy [Kelliher] and I clicked so quickly, and I played the role of a sounding board for her a lot during the season, which I was fine with if it helped her destress about situations. I adore Natasha [De Bourg], so I tried not to get involved in their issues. It definitely was apparent to everyone in the crew and made for some great popcorn moments. We would gather round and yell, “Fight! Fight! Fight!”
