Tonight is semifinals night on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” As always, Terry Crews hosts while Sofia Vergara, Mel B and Howie Mandel judge.
Simon is still absent, but there is no substitute judge.
Acro Canine Crew—Animal act: They have a slumber party theme where the dogs and humans do all sorts of acrobatics. It is so cute and fun to watch.
The judges find it fun and cute.
Kameron Marshall—Magician: He does another card trick where judges pull card that end up matching his tattoo. While it is an improvement from his prior performances, it still is similar to what we have seen before.
The judges think it is brilliant and that it belongs in the finals.
Cesar Dias—Comedy singer: He does his usual song and comedy performance, this time to Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. It is…..hysterical. I love this song, but I can’t focus on it because I am laughing at the performance so hard. He is awesome!
Mel B wasn’t a fan of the music, but Howie and Sofia enjoyed it for its humor.
Veronika Goroshkova: I have no idea how she topped her last performance (I know she had no idea how she would do it either!) but mission accomplished! WOW. Every single move was incredible, every trick a surprise and everything was so amazing that I have no notes.
The judges love how effortless she made it all look.
Luke Taleno—Rapper: Tonight, he does another song about his life, which is so inspiring. Everything about this guy is amazing and so incredible to watch….seeing how far he has come is such an inspiration to all.
The judges think he is living the American Dream who is a superstar in the making.
Royal Lasers—Laser Dance Group: As always, their routine is top notch and filled with such incredible artistry and has my jaw on the floor from start to finish.
The judges think they are getting better and better and are brilliant!
Olivia Befus—Dog act: They have a sports themed routine tonight using soccer balls, jump ropes and rackets….and…..herself?….as props. It is so adorable and fun and it is obvious how much she loves her puppy babies.
The judges think her act is creative and love the bond she has with her doggies.
Young and Strange—Magic act: They have little kids help them tonight, which makes the act even more fun. Between this and their personalities, this is such a wonderful way to show off their talents.
The judges think it was more comedic than magic, but Howie enjoyed it.
Come Here—Dance act: I love how they married American and South Korean cultures to come up with a dance that is probably one of the best I have seen on the show….it can actually rival some of the DWTS routines I have seen in the past it is that good.
The judges love the energy and call them unique and mesmerizing.
Daniel Alvarez—Comedian: He jokes about his life, the competition and how the magicians should fix his legs. I love how he can laugh at himself and his humor as a whole is so joyous.
The judges love his personality and think America loves him.
Geno Ploeger—Magician: He does a card act with a hat that has stitching matching decisions made in real time. It is interesting to watch and makes me wonder how these acts are done.
The judges love him and call him the favorite of the night.
Travis Garland—Singer: He does a rendition of Billie Ellish’s “When the Party’s Over” and WOW. If I hadn’t known about the song, I’d think it was an original, it was that good.
Mel would have preferred a different song, but the others liked it.
