As Tasha Zapata (Audrey Esparza) points a gun at him, Edgar Reade (Rob Brown) comments that this is not how he pictured seeing her again. Zapata suggests that he doesn’t know her as well as he thought, telling him she’ll shoot him if necessary. Reade surrenders his gun to Claudia Murphy (Britne Oldford), and Zapata tells him they want access to the FBI servers. He tells them it won’t happen, but Claudia assures him it will and asks Zapata which method of torture they should use first.

Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) meets with Violet (Hettienne Park), handing her the files on the CIA black sites and promises to find which one Shepherd is located in. Violet tells her that Allie looked into her and has a photo of their last meeting. She offers to take care of her, but Jane insists they need her alive for now. Claudia holds a heated fork to Reade’s face and demands the password. Reade spells out a joke password, and Zapata questions if he thinks this is funny. He insists this isn’t her, but Zapata knocks him out. Zapata insists she’s trying to do things the smart way, arguing that Reade would have drawn the attention of neighbors and cops if he screamed. She goes to his computer, telling Claudia she’s going to buy them time.

Patterson (Ashley Johnson) warns Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) not to get his hopes up but shows him a potential stem cell treatment for Jane. Weller asks her to look into Violet, lying that it’s for a favor for Allie and asking her to keep it between them. Patterson asks if there’s anything she should know about it, but Weller lies there isn’t. Weller steps out of the lab and sees that Jane cut her hair, telling her he loves it. She asks if she missed a meeting, but Weller explains the potential procedure Patterson told her about. Jane tells him she’ll do anything if it means she can spend more time with him.

Patterson and Rich Dotcom (Ennis Esmer) explain that Reade emailed that he was sick before explaining that they found information on Jane’s tattoo of a scythe pointing to a notorious assassin named Luther (Joseph Melendez). Jane sees an opportunity to find Shepherd’s location and suggests they bring in Jake Keaton (Chad Donella) to help them.

Claudia criticizes Zapata for lost time due to her knocking out of Reade. Zapata argues that torture won’t work with Reade and they need to use what’s important to him. Claudia tells her she too close to Reade to pull this off and calls Madeline Burke (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) to report the delay. Claudia reports that they have two hours or else the operation will move on without them.

Keaton provides information on Luther, and Patterson is able to use it to find his current location. Luther injects a doctor passing by and the FBI surrounds him as she falls. Luther surrenders himself but puts up a struggle in the elevator as Jane and Weller bring him back to headquarters. Luther recognizes Rich, but Rich has no recollection of him.

Claudia wakes Reade up and Zapata assures him she doesn’t want to hurt him, telling him that Claudia is worse. Reade reminds her of her oath to protect people, but Zapata questions who is protecting her. She tells him getting burnt was a wake-up call, and a reminder to look after herself. Zapata brings up all of his misdeeds and tells him that the only thing consistent in the NYPD, FBI, and CIA is corruption. Reade asks what happened to her, and Zapata tells him that she can’t help him anymore if he doesn’t give the password.

Weller and Jane interrogate Luther, but he insists he didn’t commit any crimes. He asks them about their crimes, supporting corporations that kill the environment. Luther makes a speech comparing humans to parasites of the earth, and Weller asks how he knows Rich. Once Jane clarifies who he is, Luther insists the Rich he knows would never work for the FBI. Rich is still confused of how Luther knows him until Luther makes a speech that Rich recognizes.

Rich explains to the team that he once ran a scam to have environmentalists pay him to reduce carbon emissions. He shows them the website containing a fake name and the manifesto Luther recited, explaining that he used a program to write it using multiple sources. Weller suggests that there could be a related terrorist attack, and the team begins looking into it. At the hospital, Jane admits she’s scared, and Weller assures her she’s the strongest person he knows. Doctor Lewin (Sofiya Akilova) comes in and explains the procedure for the test they will run to determine if Jane is a match for the treatment, and Weller promises he won’t leave her side.

Reade refuses to give the password, and Zapata warns him that Claudia will torture him. He asks Zapata if her feelings were real, admitting that his were. Zapata admits that she’s always loved him but asks if that makes this any better. Claudia points her gun at Zapata, telling her she’s using what’s important to Reade before threatening to shoot Zapata if Reade doesn’t talk.

Patterson narrows down the potential suspects to Daniel Katzovich (Nathan Darrow), explaining that he leads a group that attacks those who hurt the environment. She gets a notification and explains that her program to search Luther’s victim’s emails revealed that she was a member of the group that wanted to leave and that she was collecting white phosphorous for the group for an attack on New York that day.

As Claudia holds her gun to Zapata’s head, Zapata begs Reade to give Claudia the password. He reluctantly agrees to give it to them, and Claudia comments that Zapata was useful after all. Patterson finds the organization’s compound, but Weller suggests that a raid could trigger the attack sooner. Rich suggests he go undercover due to his previous communication with Daniel.

Daniel and Nicole Summers (Bianca LaVerne Jones) greet Rich and Weller, who is posing as Rich’s assistant. Nicole comments that they haven’t heard from him in a while, and Rich lies that he cut off all traditional communication as he increased his environmental efforts. Rich takes credit for the North California fires at Patterson’s instruction, and that they’ve returned to offer their help. Patterson tells Weller to stroke Daniel’s ego, and Weller tells him that they want to learn from him, complimenting his achievements.

Daniel offers them a tour and Weller notices a locked garage on the compound. Weller points it out to Rich, and Rich asks to meet Daniel’s followers to buy Weller time. In the truck, Jane tells Keaton that she wants to see Shepherd one last time, lying that she wants to interrogate her. Keaton tells her they’re already interrogated her about a possible cure, but Jane tells him that she also wants to see her because she’s dying. She argues that he owes her after her time in his black site, and he agrees to take her tomorrow. Jane asks how far the drive is, and Keaton tells her they’ll be back by the afternoon. Weller gets into the garage and reports seeing empty barrels and drone boxes, leading to the conclusion that the organization is planning an air strike.

Patterson tells Rich and Weller to get Daniel’s phone and gives Weller a code to switch the phones. As Claudia downloads the data, Reade comments that Zapata is in over her head. She tells him it’s not his job to worry about her anymore, but Reade warns her that working for Madeline is dangerous. He offers her a deal if she comes in now, and Claudia questions what Madeline would think about his offer. Zapata assures her that Reade can’t actually deliver on that deal and says goodbye to Reade before they leave.

Rich asks Daniel where he got his shirt, and he explains that they make their own clothes at the compound. Rich asks to feel the fabric, grabbing Daniel’s phone out of his pocket. Daniel accuses Rich of hitting on him, but he denies it as he discreetly passes the phone to Weller. As Weller goes into the bathroom, Daniel gets a call from the bomber telling him he just tried to call. Daniel realizes his phone is missing and orders his men to look for Rich and Weller.

The com systems go out and Weller fights one of the guards before running outside. The other guard points his gun as him, but Jane takes him out. As Daniel and Nicole drive to the bombing site, Rich hides in the back of the pickup truck and is unable to report to the rest of the team. Patterson reports that an intercepted text reveals the potential bombing site, and Daniel orders the bombers to get the drones into the air. Rich climbs out of the truck and tries to use the car’s roadside assistance responder to contact the FBI. However, the operator thinks it’s a prank and hangs up on him.

Rich orders Daniel and the bombers to stop, and Daniel insists he’s saving the planet by killing the over consumers in New York. The FBI arrives, and the bombers shoot at them. Jane, Weller, and Keaton shoot back while Daniel launches the drones. Jane collapses from a back spasm, and Keaton is shot on way to checking on her. Weller pulls Keaton behind their van, and Jane sees that the drones are flying away. Weller shoots his way to Daniel and shoots him and Nicole. Grabbing the remote, Weller begins to drive the drones back to them. Daniel reaches for a gun, but Rich picks it up and points it at him, taunting him. As the drone land safely on the ground, Jane orders Keaton to stay with them. Keaton asks Jane to call his family and loses consciousness.

Reade arrives at headquarters and tells them what happened with Zapata. He demands they asks for Keaton’s help to find her, and Weller reports that Keaton is in a medically induced coma. Reade orders the team to look for any evidence that can lead them to Zapata and to figure out what she stole from the FBI servers. Lewin reports that Jane isn’t a match for the treatment and apologizes. Jane is upset that she’s going to die, but Weller encourages her not to give up yet. He embraces her and promises things are going to be okay.

Weller tells Patterson to stop looking into Violet, but she tells him she already did. She shows him evidence that Violet is the queen of the black market and can get anyone anything. Patterson advises Reade to go home, but he declares he’s not going home until he finds Zapata. Jane reports to Violet her prediction of Shepherd’s location, and Violet tells her she’ll prepare for the breakout. Claudia hands Madeline the data they extracted, and Zapata tells Claudia there’s something she should see in the trunk. Zapata opens the trunk, shoots Claudia, and stuffs her in the trunk. She tells Madeline she found evidence that Claudia was an undercover agent. Madeline commented that she suspected a mole and tells her that her loyalty won’t be forgotten.
