Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Alternative with hip hop melodies and beats!

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I love Green Day, blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, Neck Deep, etc.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “WITCH HVNT.”

A) It’s got its own meaning to us, but I’m gonna let the fans decide what it means to them.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) We’ll have to see when it’s released! But I think the big chorus, trap verses, and angry heavy bridge will have something attractive to a very broad diverse audience.

Q) How will the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video takes the lyrics and theme of a witch hunt literally. Josh gets tied up by some guys in cloaks with torches and escapes walking over them. It’s pretty badass.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Honestly, the best songs we have we come into the studio with nothing except for maybe a theme and aesthetic goal and bounce ideas off of each other and our producer Bone. Eight hours later, a song is done.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) We sometimes have ideas like this element should happen here, but our producer knows our sound just as well as we do so he’s usually already ten steps ahead. Check out Threshold Studios in Indianapolis! Bone, Garrett and Yog are the homies!

Q) How did the band decide to cover $uicideboy$ single “2nd Hand” and the other songs on your Chin Up, Kid Part II EP?

A) We kind of had an idea of which artists we wanted to do and just picked the ones we thought would translate the best into our sound!

Q) You are headed out on tour with Offended By Everything. What can fans expect from a live Chin Up, Kid performance?

A) Expect a ton of energy and our favorite material!

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from your music as whole?

A) We want them to just connect really. We write about really personal themes as honestly as possible.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, that’s always a great time. Denton, Denver, the PNW, St. Louis, and eastern Ohio are always favorites. Rocketown in Nashville too, very hospitable, good people!

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Get Post or one of the $uicideboy$ on a track! Uzi would be dope too!

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’ve really been digging the new $uicideboy$ LP. It took a minute to grow on me, but every song on it is great. Fate’s Got A Driver’s new EP is fantastic too!

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It’s the most personable way to connect to people you may only see twice a year on tour. Then they can share things and info or music just spreads. It’s fucking great.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your music?

A) Thank you very much to everyone who supports us and listens to our music. You are what drives us to continue pushing our musical boundaries and stay out on the road even when it means being apart from our families.
