In a 1982 interview with Merv Griffin, Teddy Price (Tom Wright) talks about his career as a record producer. But back where the last episode left off, Billy (Sam Claflin), Graham (Will Harrison), Warren (Sebastian Chacon), Eddie (Josh Whitehouse) and Camila (Camila Morrone) get to Los Angeles and track down Rod Reyes (Timothy Olyphant) at his apartment building. While they pitch him a list of necessities to get their band up and running, Reyes politely reminds them that he is a tour manager and instead offers a potential opportunity to play a bar called Filthy McNasty’s on the strip….the rest is up to them. But before leaving Rod to his precious tanning time, Graham makes one more request for Karen’s (Suki Waterhouse) phone number. As Graham gets a little tongue-tied around Karen, Billy takes over and offers her a spot in the band. She asks to speak with Camila before making a decision.

In another part of town, Simone (Nabiyah Be) is returning to her apartment, she finds that someone is already in there. Believing that it’s an intruder, she prepares to fight and finds that Daisy (Riley Keough) used the spare key to get in. While Daisy has taken it upon herself to prepare dinner, she tells Simone that she moved out of her parents’ house and wanted to take Simone up on her offer for a roommate. Simone cringes at tasting Daisy’s cooking, but agrees to the offer.

Camila begins to talk about the beginnings of coming to California. The band ends up snagging a house rental for cheap as the prior tenant died there recently. And at first, all is blissful. Billy and Camila are in their little love bubble. The band members enjoy being away from home and getting into fun shenanigans. And Karen ultimately decides to join the band, moving into the house with them.

But the road is still a bit rough. While the stint at Filthy McNasty’s garners interest, pay is nonexistent and Camila works hard behind the scenes to get a record producer to come watch the band….with no luck. And as the seat for Teddy Price remains empty, Billy’s depression kicks in…as does the beginnings of a drinking problem. Later at a diner and counting their dwindling cash flow, Karen suggests that the band change their name to bring interest. Upon agreeing to become The Six, The Dunne Brothers is put to rest. Over their excitement, the camera shows Daisy rushing into the diner to start her work shift.

Later that night after a rough meeting about his recent failures with new talent, Teddy Price heads out to the Troubadour for an open mic night. Simone is showcasing her own music that she plans to sell copies of at the bar, but also gets Daisy up on stage. As Price listens to Daisy, he is intrigued. However, Daisy refuses his help when he offers to help her fine-tune her craft. But for Price, Daisy is not the only new talent he will meet.

While Billy and Graham are out buying necessities for the house, Graham catches Price walking into the store and sends Billy back in to catch him. On the way out, Billy stops Price and convinces him to give his band a shot. Price offers him one chance and Billy decides to have The Six perform his new song “Silver Nail”, to which Price tells Merv Griffin that they blew him away. With a contract in the works and playing bigger venues, Teddy tells Billy that the band will finally get to record an album. The Six are finally getting their big break!

Daisy continues to work in the diner, but Price decides to see her at work in order to convince her to work with him. He believes her music could be great, but that she needs to work on the journey of the song. After paying her for her time, Price puts on what he considers a “song” and leaves Daisy to think about his offer. Later on during a hook-up, Daisy finally gets what Teddy is looking for and gets to work on new material.

After a newly recorded album and a tour in the works, Billy learns while packing that Camila is now pregnant. Afraid of the next steps, Billy and Camila get married that night and the anxiety of potential fatherhood coupled with his career urges Billy to drink even more as he spirals out of control. At first, Billy and Camila talk regularly on the phone while Billy is on the road. But as the calls get less frequent and Camila receives vague answers to Billy’s whereabouts, she finds the hotel they are staying at and decides to surprise Billy. But for Camila, the surprise is on her when she finds a drunken Billy in the van with two other women. Seeing Billy drunk and on drugs, she gives Billy the ultimatum to show up for her and his baby.

One night on tour, Billy’s drinking changes everything. While performing to a decent-sized crowd, the rest of the band notices that Billy is unable to maintain composure onstage. As they exit after their current song to the dismay of the fans, Teddy is waiting backstage to tell Billy that Camila has given birth and they need to go to the hospital. Leaving the remaining members of the band at the venue, Teddy brings Billy to see Camila. But in a moment of clarity, Billy realizes he is in no state to see his wife and child and pleads with Teddy to not make him go in. Ultimately, Teddy has Billy get back in the car and takes Billy to rehab.

For Daisy, her songwriting has taken a turn for the better. After she writes and records a new song for Teddy to hear, she drops the demo off at his doorstep. While Camila cradles her baby alone in the hospital and The Six are getting dropped from the label and tour, Daisy’s rise to the top is only beginning.
