The episode opens with a flashback of an event that took place 3 years ago where Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Luke (Patrick Schwarzenegger) were called to see Sam (Asa Germann) at the “Sage Grove Center” given that he was in the middle of a crisis. Luke appeared to calm him down but then one of the guards (Moses Nyarko) made the mistake to shoot him anyway something that made Sam to go mad and kill him. When Luke tried to help him, he sent him flying to the wall and Cate used her power to put him to sleep. Right in that moment Cate wakes up from the deep sleep she was in (let’s remember that she had fainted when she wasted too much energy on saving Andre in the prior episode) and Andre (Chance Perdomo) welcomes her with open arms and a gesture of relief since he thought she might never wake up. The two of them talk briefly about what happened before and he shows her what he found on Brink’s (Clancy Brown) computer files and blames himself for having helped on getting Sam captured when he could have just run away. Andre is now determined to find a way to free Luke’s brother but Cate is afraid to lose him too and tells him that she might as well use her power to stop him. However, the young man is certain she won’t be capable of doing such thing. Driven by the spur of the moment and the grieving they were sharing, the two of them share a kiss that ends up being way more than that.

Meanwhile, at the other side of campus, Marie (Jaz Sinclair) returns to her room trying not to make any noise in case her roommate Emma (Lizze Broadway) is already asleep but she is surprised not to find her there. When she gets ready to sleep, she hears a distant voice calling her name and realizes that Emma has gone so small that she almost disappears so she feeds her back to her regular size. Marie tries to talk about the incident and even dares to suggest her to find some help but Emma do not take this in the right way asking Marie to remain just as roommates and to mind her own business.

The next day comes with a whole new agenda since everyone is getting ready for the Brink’s Fundraiser Gala that will also serve as a way to celebrate the man’s legacy. Marie has managed to grow a little closer to Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn) who has invited her over for breakfast and congratulates her for the way she handled the interview with Hailey Miller (Leigh Bush) the night before. With the head already in the game, Dean Shetty asks the young girl to join her at the gala that same night and although at first the young girl is hesitant, she ends up agreeing to it. But Marie is not the only one that has been asked to attend the gala. All around the campus the supes parents are doing their job convincing their sons and daughters to attend as well since they know the importance of such an event like this. Emma’s mother Tiffany (Rayisa Kondracki) shows up on campus to make sure that she is covered for tonight’s event. They talk briefly about the incident that got Emma all over the internet talking about the way she gets small and the young girl tries to hide the pain the whole situation causes to her. By the way, Justine (Maia Jae Bastidas) tried to apologize to Emma for exposing her and she is almost forgiven but then Emma realizes that the other girl has been filming her all along and decides that there is no way that the apology could come from any place of honesty. Jordan (London Thor) is having a good time with Tyler (Siddharth Sharma) when her parents, Paul (Peter Kim) and Kayla (Laura Kai Chen), show up banging on the door. Jordan is now in her female form so she manages to kick Tyler out of her room and shapes back to his male form (Derek Luh) before she lets her parents in. Just as the others, they have come up just to make sure that their “son” is ready to show off at the gala. The big event of the night has started and everyone is bedazzled when seeing Marie walking next to the Dean Shetty. All eyes are on the young girl as well as the photographers who are avid to get the best shots of her. Every trustee wants to talk to her and all of a sudden the young girl finds herself caught up in a net of lie after lie about her actual life. After some time she finally stops and takes some time to talk to Dean Shetty about how the night has unraveled but unfortunately it is there when Marie is brought back to reality at full speed when the woman thanks her for saving her job and making the night a huge success. Sadly, Marie is not the only one that has been disappointed by how the night has turned out, since on the other side of the room we see Tiffany and Courtenay Fortney (Jackie Tohn), a Senior Producer at Vought, trying to convince Emma to make a reality show out of her situation. She hears them talk, but after a while she just decides that she had had enough and leaves them on their own. Meanwhile, things haven’t gotten so easy on Jordan either. Qhile still in his male form, he hears his father talk proudly about how his son will soon find the right girl to marry. After this, Jordan decides to shift into his female form and have a serious conversation with her parents that does not end well when she sees the disappointment in his father’s eyes when talking about who she truly wants to be. Andre is also having a hard time with his father (Sean Patrick Thomas) who wants nothing but to show him off when the young man has so much more in mind. Sometime later Marie and Emma find each other in the bathroom and, although at the beginning the tension between them could be cut with a knife, the two end up making peace with each other after Marie confesses that she wants to be Emma’s friend and not only her roommate.

Eventually, Andre finds the opportunity to escape from his father’s grip and goes after Emma. The young supe has come up with a plan to get to Sam and thinks that Little Cricket is the perfect person to help him with this job, so he talks to her about his plan. However, when he says out loud, he realizes of the danger that this would imply yet Emma does not feel the same way so she agrees to help him and it is like that how she ends up sneaking into a tray food delivered to Sam’s cell. Andre goes back to the gala but makes sure to keep track of Emma. At some point he sees that the girl is still inside the cell which makes him start to worry about her well-being. At first Sam thought that she was just part of his imagination, but after a very peculiar test he concluded that she was actually real so they start talking about the reasons why she was there. Meanwhile, at the gala Andre has made it nearly impossible to hide his nervousness so he confesses to his father his suspicions about “The Woods” and ends up completely disappointed when he finds out that his father has known about it all along and now the man has practically forbidden him to say a word about what he knows. On the other side of the place Jordan and Cate are sharing a drink when Marie passes by. Jordan attempts to bother her but the young girl is in no mood for her comments and ends up confessing what she did to her parents, something that made Cate also admit that back in the day, before she was actually aware that she had powers, she made her brother disappear. It appears that these confessions made the three of them to empathize with each other and put their issues aside. A few moments later Andre shows up asking for Emma admitting that he sent her to Sam’s cell and now, it seems that she might be in trouble. Back at Sam’s cell, the alarms have been set off and the young man knows that the guards are coming for her so he hides her behind some books; a guard comes in (Christopher Di Meo) and uses a device to harm Sam sending him to the ground then, he looks all over the place for Emma who, when seeing the opportunity, jumps at him then enters his ear canal and makes it explode getting him dead in a blink of an eye. Not so long after, a group of guards enter the room while Emma stares at them all covered in blood.

For the “One on One with Hailey Miller” show Emma carefully studies the script she has been given while Andre’s father, Polarity, has started to lose his senses. He sees that his son is nowhere to be around. Before the interview Hailey introduces herself to Marie and let it slip that the girl’s sister was invited to participate in the show, but unfortunately she had made clear that she didn’t want anything to do with Marie. When hearing this, Marie asks the presenter to give her more information about her sister’s whereabouts but the other woman ignores her. This revelation changes the whole agenda that Marie had for the night making her break the promise she made to Jordan Li and lying about the whole situation while Jordan watches her in disgust.
