Cassie (Catherine Bell) is baking a surprise cake for Grace (Bailee Madison) when Sam (James Denton) walks in saying that he just got the DJ for the graduation party. As they discuss about the nostalgia of having two kids going to college Grace and Nick (Rhys Matthew Bond) enter the kitchen. The girl expresses how nervous she feels about her speech, but Nick tries to calm her down saying that she will do just fine.

Later that day Grace stops by her mother’s store where she can see her putting a beautiful dress on display and the girl is fascinated by the design. Cassie informs her that Mrs. Hansen (Linda Thorson) has decided to move to a villa in Tuscany and has asked for her help to sell her dresses. She also tells Grace that as far as she knows the woman is working on one final piece, something that makes the girl really excited. So, Cassie suggests she offer her help to the woman since she must have a lot on her hands with the moving.

Sam pays a visit to Martha (Catherine Disher) at her office to let her know that he went to where the old meeting house used to be but couldn’t find anything that would help them to find the treasure. Martha says that maybe the treasure is meant to remain lost and then she mentions that the only thing that they have managed to salvage was the old fireplace that her husband had refurbished when he was mayor. So, Sam tries to take a closer look and manages to find another symbol by the side of the fireplace. Martha believes that one of the symbols is a reference to a zodiac sign or Mars.

Sam discusses about the new symbols with George (Peter MacNeill) while they attempt to put a banner for the graduation party for Nick and Grace when Linda (Gabrielle Miller), Nick’s mother, enters the place and greets Sam happily. Soon after Nick and Cassie join them and the young man seems to be pretty happy to see his mom again.

Grace meets with Mrs. Hansen and expresses how impressed she is about her work. The woman tells her that it was her mother who taught her about the business. Grace takes a look around the pictures of the people that Mrs. Hansen has created a dress for and the woman tells her that she remembers every person she has worked with and the stories of each one of them. Then, she unexpectedly asks Grace to help her finish her last dress.

Stephanie (Kylee Evans) is busy handling a crowded restaurant when she meets with a woman who tells her that is a shame that her food truck is not open at the time. After some quick chat, Stephanie can tell that the woman she has been speaking with is actually Lisa Gold (Courtney Deelen) the blogger whose reviews on Stephanie’s food truck had managed to increase the number of customers and who also encourages her to keep it open 24/7.

That night Abi (Sarah Power) and Donovan (Marc Bendavid) come back from the movies. They joke about it and then he mentions that he saw something that reminded him of her, so he bought it and shows her a beautiful bracelet that Abi likes a lot. Donovan says that he loves it as well and then blurts out that he also loves her. All Abi can manage to say is “thank you,” leaving him completely surprised. Back at the Grey House Sam tells Cassie about the new found symbol and together they figure out that it can also be found in alchemy and that it was used to represent iron.  Abi shows up at Cassie’s store and tells her what happened with Donovan. She assures that she wanted to tell him that she loves him too but couldn’t do it and Cassie suggests her to take her time and don’t put pressure on herself.

Back at Mrs. Hansen’s place Grace has finally managed to move along with the dress and, although she has made a few mistakes, the woman encourages her to finish it. George shows up and tries to help Mrs. Hansen with the moving but she tells him that she has that taken care of. However, there is something he can help her with and she shows him a safe box that has no combination and that she claims that it came with the place when she bought it. She says that if George can open it he might keep what is inside.

Linda meets with Nick at the bistro and she apologizes for not been there for him as much as she would love to. Nick shows him some of his work and then has to leave in a haste to attend the graduation rehearsal. At the rehearsal Donovan shows up in support of his cousin Luke (Dale Whibley). Cassie intercepts him saying that Martha needs his help as she is trapped inside the elevator. The man manages to open the doors letting out a grateful Martha. After hearing a “thank you” so many times it just seems to be enough for him since it reminds him of Abi. He notices Cassie’s shift in her reaction and knows that Abi had spoken to her, so Cassie suggests that there are some things that it’s worth waiting for.

Sam, Nick, Cassie and Grace have dinner together and they discuss about the things they will miss when the two seniors leave Middleton. Sam comes back from the dinner and meets with Linda who tells him that she does not agree on her son leaving to Los Angeles. Unfortunately for her, Nick has listened to the whole conversation. Sam goes after his son and tells him that he needs to give her some time and she will come around.

Grace has finally finished the dress and decides to try it on and she is loving it. Mrs. Hansen looks delighted by the creation and says that the dress has turned out just as she envisioned it. Grace says that she cannot wait to wear a dress like that and right that moment,Cassie walks in saying that she can do it tomorrow as she was the one who ordered the dress for her and she loves that Grace has managed it to make it for herself.

Graduation day has arrived and everyone is gathered at the venue to support their loved ones. Grace delivers a beautiful and lovely speech inspired on her grandfather’s words. The party is now in full swing and everybody seems to be having fun. Martha approaches Grace and gives her a Middleton’s snow globe for her to always have the town close to her. Abi gives her a photo album filled with pictures of them for her to remember the good times they’ve had.

Cassie sees a very impatient George trying to open the safe that Mrs. Hansen gave him, but no combination has worked so far so Cassie suggests he try one more time and maybe the 13th time is a charm. As it was expected, the safe is opened but empty or so it seems. Sam takes Nick upstairs and gives him a priceless gift which is advice his father gave him when he was in the same situation as Nick and it was that “no matter where he is 40 years from now, what matter is what he learned and how he used it.” Linda walks in just in time before Sam gives him another gift which is a watch that has been in the Radford family for four generations. Also, Sam shows him one other gift from him and Linda that is a brand-new game design system.

Abi attempts to fix things between her and Donovan, but he still seems to be very uncomfortable around her. Linda apologizes to Nick for not supporting him in the first place, but she tells him that she’ll miss him and they decide they will try to spend more time together.

Vincent (Gianpaolo Venuta) talks to Stephanie and Adam (Scott Cavalheiro) and tells them that since he cannot be around that much he is willing to sell his part of the food truck to a new investor – Lisa Gold.

Linda tells Sam that she would like to take Nick with him before he starts college so they can spend more time together and he agrees. When the woman leaves Sam sees the safe opened and tries to figure out what’s inside. Cassie joins him and they realize that inside one of the compartments there is sentence written in Latin that means “When all 4 elements combine, 10 ft under you will find.” Cassie and Sam go to the old tunnels underneath Middleton and find another symbol written in one of the bricks of the wall. Sam removes the brick and finds a key hole. Luckily, Cassie has taken Martha’s key with her and that opens a door that protects an old chest that contains a small box. They take it and give it to Martha. When they open it they realize that it is actually a music box that, Nathaniel and Meredith, the town ancestors used to have. Martha believes that the melody that comes out of it is actually a symbol of the love that’s been around since the beginning.

Linda is ready to leave and thanks Cassie for being such a great support for Nick, who also says his goodbyes to Sam and Cassie and leaves with his mother. Abi makes a special dinner for Donovan and apologizes to him for not being able to tell him that she loves him and when she tries to do it the words just seem to be physically stuck on her throat. She spells it with roses and then a weird wind blows taking the petals away.

Cassie and Grace share some tea and the woman tells the girl that Mrs. Hansen has told her how talented she is. Grace tells her that she has realized that “it’s not about the clothes but the stories they tell.” Cassie gives her a sewing machine that has been in the Merriwick family for generations.

Martha is at her office listening to the music box and when the music stops three compartments open and one of them reveals an emerald. That is when Martha realizes that the ruby and the diamond have gone missing from the other two compartments.

THREE MONTHS LATER

Cassie returns home after leaving Grace at college. Sam looks at her and asks her if she is ready for a new chapter in their lives and asks her to follow him outside. When she does he carries her in his arms and takes her back inside. It is the first pages of a whole new beginning for them.
