Jake Choi – IAMA’s One Day Plays

Q) How did come to participate in IAMA Theatre Company’s “One Day Plays?”

A) My friend and one of the founders Stefanie Black asked me if I was interested. I love her and IAMA and couldn’t say no.

Q) Were you familiar with any of your other actors you’ll be starring with?

A) Yes, my lovely and talented cast mate Kimrie Lewis!

Q) Was there someone you were looking forward to having a scene with?

A) Yes, Kimrie!

Q) You’re no stranger to the stage. What is it about this medium that continues to captivate you?

A) I love the stage because you have to be ever so present and truly listen to your partners you’re sharing the stage with.

Q) Talk about the challenge it presents you to rehearse and memorize in order to act in the play later that day.

A) Whenever you’re working against time, it’s always going to feel challenging. But I think it’s a fun and exciting kind of challenge.

Q) Katie Lowes is co-artistic director! What kind of advice has she offered you throughout the preparation process?

A) I actually haven’t had a chance to speak with her yet but looking forward to it.

Q) Do you have any pre-show rituals that help bring you luck on stage?

A) I like to sit in different seats in the theatre and look at the stage about an hour before I’m called. It helps me feel grounded.

Q) What do you hope to personally take away from working in this fast-paced platform?

A) I’m just excited to work with friends and meet new artists.

Q) We’re loving seeing you on “Single Parents.” What can you tease is in store as the finale fast approaches?

A) Can’t say too much but there will be love!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and the series?

A) I would just like to say thank you and that we all truly appreciate every single supporter. Because without you, there would be no show or us.
