Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is trying to finalize her divorce from Michael (Brett Dier), now Jason, who has suddenly changed his mind about it and is trying to, as he says, “court Jane.” He wants her to make sure there is no spark.

Xiomara, (Andrea Navedo), was told last episode by River (Brooke Sheilds) that she is making two times as much as Rogelio (Jaime Camil) is making on the American version of “The Passions of Santos.” Ro seems to take this fine…until they start filming scenes. He starts making noises during her lines and the rage comes out when he begins freaking out on River and how since she said take a five-minute break maybe it means he only gets two and a half.

Jane tells Rafael (Justin Baldoni) how Jason asked her out on a date and, of course, she said no. He says he is beginning to not like Michael and it’s like a love triangle all over again. Then, the worst happens when Mateo (Elias Janssen) sees Jason and starts screaming, “Mommy! Michael came back from the dead!” They explain to Mateo that Michael never died, but “hit his head” and lost his memory.

Rogelio comes back from work and tells Xo how it went with River. Xo admits it isn’t fair he is being paid less, but it is nice a woman is winning and getting paid more or as equal to a man, which is a problem in Hollywood sometimes.

Jason keeps texting Jane and asking her on dates. He says just one date and he will sign the divorce papers.

Rogelio asks River to find for gender parity for Rogelio. She says no because she has worked so hard to get where she is and she is proud to be a rare woman getting paid more. She is finally getting what she deserves and is not going to fight for him. He walks away and says he will fight for himself.

Petra’s (Yael Grobglas) daughters Anna (Mia Allan) and Ellie (Ella Allan) and Mateo keep fighting. She suggests maybe Jane should have disciplined him more. They cause damage at the Marbella and Mateo screams, “I am going to kill you,” to the girls.

Jane and Petra fight online sending articles to each other on how to make siblings get along. After aggressively chatting with each other and being snippy, they both send the same article at the same time. They decide to try it out with the kids and it ends up terrible. Petra and Jane then fight and Jane tries to explain that Mateo just feels left out when he’s with the twins, and he’s right, it is always two to one. Petra then kind of hints sometimes people feel left out, like maybe she does with Jane and Rafael.

On set Rogelio accidentally hits River and now half her face is paralyzed. Producers say if her recovery time is too long that they might not be able to finish the pilot and may have to stop production all together. River then comes in with half her face paralyzed and insists she still will act and they can just tape half her face. After they do the scene this way, Rogelio admits to Xo that she is an amazing actress and she definitely deserves to get paid that much. He says this, but he is still upset. He says that this is his project, his story and something he has worked on for four years. He questions why he is trying so hard to be accepted and validated in a country that doesn’t seem to value him at all.

Rafael goes to visit Petra and his daughters. At the Marbella we see Rafael runs into Jason. Jason says that as he sees it that Jane had him, Rafael tried, but Jane still chose him. So, he is taking his wife on a date.

On the date you can tell Jane doesn’t want to be there…at first. Jason invited her fishing. He asks her what she is into and they seem to have nothing in common. Jane talks about how she doesn’t like camping but liked it with Michael. Jane keeps trying to catch a fish, which Jason says they can end the date after, but she only caught a boot. As he is teaching her how to fish, sort of romantically, she gets a bite on her line. She stands up before Jason can tell her not to and they fall in the water, but she catches a fish. Jason says he will sign the divorce papers now.

Jane and Petra have a serious talk about how they both have been feeling. They say they feel like they have each other, in a sisterly way, and they embrace. The kids are now getting along, too. Petra listens as Jane tells her about what has been happening with Jason. Petra thinks that Jane and Jason have their own lives and that Jane should tell him to go back to Montana.

River tells Rogelio that Xo talked to her and explained why he wants to fight. River says she will help him.

Jane goes to see Jason and tells him what she thinks should happen. He agrees and says he already bought a bus ticket back to Montana. He says he just saw how in love they were and wanted to push for that, but he realized that Jane isn’t the one for him.

Rafael and Jane finally get to spend “grown-up” time together and talk about possibly adopting kids in the future. Petra gets a text back from J.R.

Rogelio went to the network with River and he is getting equal payment. River then comes out in a magazine talking about how she helped him.

Michael comes to give Jane a parting gift…a fishing pole. She hands it back saying she won’t use it, but says he is a good person and he deserves a good life. They hug goodbye with Jane having a tear in her eye. As he shuts the door, some debris falls off from the ceiling landing on him just like the “snow” did from the first night he met Jane. This triggers his memory to come back.
