The show opens with Bonnie (Allison Janney), Jill (Jaime Pressly) Tammy (Kristen Johnston), Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy) and Wendy (Beth Hall) in the diner while Christy (Anna Faris) is outside smoking. As the women talk and joke, Bonnie steals Christy’s fries. Christy yells at her through the window making hand gestures, while Bonnie continues to eat them. They also discuss the bar, which Marjorie calls a success waiting to happen. She also tells Bonnie to be more supportive, which the ladies agree this is a good idea.

Jill suggests they go see Dharma the hug lady and spiritual lady from India. The lady is supposed to take their problems away. Tammy says the hug lady in prison did not do that.

Christy comes in and the women refuse to tell her what happened while she was gone. They finally tell her about the hug lady and they all agree to take a road trip to go see her for a spiritual reboot. There will even be a cable car for Tammy.

The ladies are on the road trip and are annoyed with Christy’s smoke breaks. Jill explains why she is wearing a sari and thinks it will get her more hug time. They are even more annoyed when Christy comes back in the car reeking of cigarettes. Christy wants to know why Jill is wearing a sari, but Jill won’t let anyone tell her because there are no recaps for smokers.

Bonnie stayed behind to help Adam (William Fichtner) with the bar. He is there with a friend named Mike (Larry Joe Campbell). Bonnie keeps giving suggestions while Adam shoots them down. Bonnie tries to get Mike to help her out and they begin to sing until Adam threatens to cut him off. Bonnie and Adam argue over her advice and she storms out.

The other women are on line to meet the hug lady and write down their intentions. Marjorie wants to let go of the pain of losing Victor while still loving him, Tammy wants to love herself and Wendy wants to be seen and heard. She gets cut off while they get tickets. Mason the ticket guy (Mike Lane) tells them it will be a four hour wait. Jill tries to pay him off.

Bonnie calls and tells Marjorie about the fight and she tells her she should have handled it better.  The girls play a game while they wait in line, which Tammy kills at, making Jill quip that they should be hugging her. Christy goes to smoke as the line moves….causing the other women to miss out on seeing the hug lady because she is the one with the tickets.

Christy comes back and the women are angry with her for ruining their day. Christy offers to explain to the ushers, but Jill said they already tried and they are now playing hacky sack. Jill finally lets her anger out at Christy for her smoking. Marjorie says they should just go home. Jill gets angry and tries to fight Christy when she asks to use the restroom.

Adam and Mike are at the bar talking. Mike says he could have been a singer, but his girlfriend got pregnant and he had to get a job climbing telephone poles. Bonnie comes into the bar to apologize. She promises to keep quiet and checks Yelp where she sees Mike left a review. Not to be outdone, she leaves one of her own. She also admits karaoke will ruin the place and she and Adam have a sweet moment….ruined by Mike.

Christy is in the bathroom talking in her head about how terrible she is when someone asks her to pass her some toilet paper. It turns out it is the hug lady and she has her spiritual moment and hug after Hug Lady washes her hands.

Adam, Mike and Bonnie are watching the game in the bar. Mike is impressed with how Adam apologized and owned his mistakes. Bonnie says she never used to be like that and AA really helped. Mike goes to leave and says his wife is steamed at him and he wishes she would apologize despite the fact that he was wrong. Bonnie convinces him to leave his keys and not drive.

Jill is still mad that they are waiting for Christy and storms into the bathroom to yell at her. She throws a fit when she realizes Christy got hugged. However, she asks about it and Christy says it was life changing. That doesn’t make Jill feel better until Christy says she realizes the error of her ways. The two hug it out, despite Jill’s resistance. They end up having their own spiritual moment.

The show ends with Bonnie saying Mike is now at her AA meetings. Two women walk in to see the dog (which got a shout out from Bonnie) and they want anything BUT wine since they have been in Napa for three days.
