Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I’m currently directing a short film called Then & Now, starring Madeline Carroll and Sterling Beaumon and I’m having the most incredible time making it.

Q) What is new this season on “Famous in Love” and with your character Alexis?

A) This season of” Famous in Love” is less about Paige (Bella Thorne) working her way into Hollywood, but focuses more on Hollywood as a world and digs a lot deeper into all of those Hollywood player dynamics. As for Alexis, she’s starring in her own reality show called “Alexilicious” and is learning about the scarifies that come with fame the hard way.

Q) Was there anything you added to her that wasn’t in the original breakdown for her?

A) The breakdown for Alexis was nothing like me! She was supposed to be this super tall, skinny, model type. I was so shocked to even hear that I was being considered. I wore my tallest high heels to the audition. They probably thought I was crazy.

Q) What have you found challenging about portraying Alexis?

A) I’ve found the whole “Alexilicious” plotline a bit more difficult this season because Alexis sort of plays a character in her reality show; a very dramatic, cheesy, heightened version of herself. I really learned a lot this season and I’m so excited to see where Alexis takes me next.

Q) Talk about working with costar Bella Thorne.

A) Every time people ask me about Bella I tell them how much I love her “be yourself” attitude. I’ve never met anyone that was as brave as her in the sense that she refuses to be anything but her true self and I really admire that. It’s a really encouraging energy to have around set all the time.

Q) What do you think it is viewers might misunderstand about Alexis?

A) I think her whole upbringing in general is probably very hard for people to wrap their heads around because it was so unique. Growing up in the spotlight can make it a lot harder to have a more “realistic” and “normal” approach to life.

Q) Alexis is adrift right now without many allies. Is this app really more important to her than her friends?

A) I believe Alexis conditioned herself her entire life to see her career as the most important thing there is and this may be the journey where she will finally learns that isn’t necessarily the case.

Q) Do you think Ida has Alexis’ best interests in mind?

A) I think the only thing on Ida’s mind is Ida (Vanessa Williams).

Q) What have been some of your most memorable behind the scenes moments on “Famous In Love?”

A) One of my favorite memories ever is watching the pilot with the cast in Marlene’s office the night we wrapped the first season. It was so special to see it finally come to life with all of them.

Q) You are a part of social media. Do you enjoy the instant fan feedback to episodes?

A) I love tweeting with the fans during episodes! We all have so much fun interacting with them. Our show comes with a lot of crazy reaction moments and it’s beyond amazing to be able to share that with the fans.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I love you.
