Nikki Taylor Vibe – No Lies

Q) How would you describe your sound?

 

A) I would describe my sound as vibey, chill and haunting.

 

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

 

A) I grew up listening to a lot of Hip Hop/ Rock, so I would say I definitely have been inspired/influenced by multiple artists.

 

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “No Lies.”

 

A) “No Lies” is an unconditional love song about finding your person.

 

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

 

A) I think fans love the acoustic realness of the song. It’s chill and catchy and real. While writing this song I wanted the lyrics to feel very conversational, so when the listener hears it, they feel they are part of the conversation or that they can feel themselves in a similar emotion.

 

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

 

A) The songwriting process is different for me every time. Sometimes the lyrics come first, or the chords come first. Sometimes I write to produced it all depends on the day.

 

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

 

A) I have a pretty big hand in the production of my music as I usually co-produce most of it. If that’s not the case, I’m pretty involved in the production process with my producers I love to work through Facetime or Zoom to ensure the vision is fulfilled.

 

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

 

A) I actually released my debut EP titled Siren in June 2020, which touched on topics such as Mental Health, Addiction, Depression, Anxiety and finding self-love, as for now I’m releasing a bunch of singles so stay tuned for that.

 

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I’m just getting started really doing performances since COVID, but I love performing In NYC and The Hamptons and I’m looking forward to performing in other US cities. California is my next stop.

 

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

 

A) That’s a hard one because there’s more then one. I would say Lil Nas X, Doja Cat and Jaden Smith, Rihanna and J. Cole.

 

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them? 

 

A) I listen to a bunch of genres, lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Frank Ocean, Kanye West, JID, Nirvana and Fleetwood Mac.

 

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

 

A) I love using social media to connect. I’ve always wanted my supporters to feel like they can have conversations with me regardless of what they’re going through. At the end of the day we are all the same, we all feel and we all go through things and I think the conversations are important.

 

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

 

A) I would say thank you for believing in me and supporting me. I would not be where I am today without you guys.
