Q) Who were your musical influences growing up?

Sam: What makes this band so dynamic is that we all had different musical influences growing up, from country to pop to soul music and really everything in between.

Q) How would you describe your sound to those who haven’t heard you before?

Andrew: We’d describe our sound as a great blend between organic elements and pop music. We wanted to keep the feel of organic, real instrumentation, while also having some pop elements.

Q) Your new single “Just Keep Driving” is incredibly catchy. What is the inspiration behind the song?

Devin: The inspiration behind “Just Keep Driving” was really a message of persistence. No matter where we are in life or whatever we may be facing, we need to keep moving forward with hope!

Q) The video for the single looks like the perfect road trip! How much fun was it to film?

Jon: It was so much fun, but was also a lot of work. We traveled to four different states and shot at so many different locations, so at times it was very chaotic. I don’t think we’ll ever forget the memories we made, though.

Q) What do you hope fans take away from the song?

Sam: We hope our Outsiders take away the message of persistence. We wanted to release something that felt good during this time. We know how difficult these times are for everyone, including us. “Just Keep Driving” is a song that’s all about moving forward and hanging in there. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by our everyday lives and sometimes the only thing we can do is make the conscious effort to “Just Keep Driving.”

Q) What is your songwriting process? Do you need lyrics before the music or vice versa?

Andrew: It’s different for all of us. We all write on our own and together as a band. Sometimes one of us will come up with a melody during the day and we will save it to our voice memos and we will revisit it later. Generally speaking, melodies usually come first and we will add lyrics that fit the vibe soon after, but there really isn’t a set formula.

Q) What artist/band are you currently listening to?

Dawson: Chris Stapleton, Blake Rose, Lauv and Ariana Grande are some of the artists we’ve been listening to, but lately I think we’ve all been streaming our Christmas EP from last year.

Q) On your website fans have the opportunity to suggest where you should play on tour. Is there anywhere in particular that you would really love to play?

Devin: We all definitely had an idea for where we wanted to tour before COVID, but now it’s like, “We will take what we can get.” [laughs] We just want to get on the road, wherever that may be. As soon as it’s open and safe for everyone we’re going to make that happen

Q) You are amassing quite a following with twenty-two million+ followers and over three billion views across your content! What does it feel like to know that many people are listening to and engaging with your content?

Dawson: It’s a little mind blowing sometimes, but it’s very encouraging to know that we are able to connect with so many!

Q) How important do you think Social Media is for keeping in touch with fans, especially during the current circumstances?

Sam: Social media has been one of our most useful tools for keeping in touch with the Outsiders. The family that has risen up through our fans is honestly amazing and very encouraging to watch people from all over the world come together. We love having that ability to be connected to our Outsiders.

Q) Is there anything you would like to say to those who have supported you throughout your journey so far?

Jon: Our supporters, the Outsiders, are the greatest fans in the world! We love you all so much and we can’t thank you enough for unending support!
