Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I’m having so much fun filming an action comedy called My Spy. I love our team — Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal and Ken Jeong (among other awesome actors). The lovely Pete Segal is directing.

Q) Please tell us what is new this season on “Midnight, Texas” and with Fiji.

A) This season we see every individual and every couple entering into something new that could either make them or break them. They’ll have to look at their very identity and decide who they really want to be. This season the dangers to the town are coming from within, and who to trust will be the ultimate life or death question.

Fiji’s life has blown wide open in a beautiful way through her relationship with Bobo (Dylan Bruce). The love and passion she had to keep locked away are free and exploring these gives her so much joy. For a time.

Q) We love Fiji’s relationship with Bobo. How will their relationship evolve this season?

A) Fiji and Bobo have never been closer. The future seems incredibly bright, with all their dreams just in the horizon. But old dangers seem to be returning — putting Bobo’s life in jeopardy — and figuring out the cause and the remedy will consume Fiji’s every thought. She’ll be going places we’d never imagined to find a way to save Bobo’s life. And Bobo will be tested like he’s never been tested before to prove his dedication to the woman he loves.

Q) Going into Season 2, was there someone you didn’t share many scenes with last season that you were excited to work with this season?

A) I loved having more time with Olivia (Arielle Kebbel). It’s been beautiful watching Arielle’s take on her, the way Olivia is revolving. The friendship between these two seemingly different characters is something I love to see and can’t wait to see more of.

Q) Do you get much input into how Fiji evolves?

A) Our show is very collaborative. But there’s been an intuitive streak running through it since the very beginning. We often find that we’re on the same page (so to speak) as the writers when it comes to character development. Yet, they come up with surprises that chill me to the bone too, so it’s exciting to see what they’ve thought up independent of us.

Q) Can you tease about any upcoming guest stars we’ll be seeing this season?

A) YES!! We were RICH in guest stars this season OMG! To be honest, we have always said how wonderful our guest stars have been since the very beginning. This season we have Hamilton’s incredibly talented and sweet Jasmine Cephas Jones, Trace Lysette (who we are all obsessed with), Tony-winner Rondi Reed, the brilliant Michael Harney (“OITNB”), some of our favorites from last season and more!

Q) “Midnight, Texas” is always pushing boundaries with the supernatural. How does this season go even further?

A) This season asks the question: If you could be someone else, would you? What if you could be ‘normal’? What would you give to have what you want? We get a chance to see where these choices lead — from some beautiful places to some heartbreaking ones.

Q) Can you tease some of your most memorable moments from filming this season?

A) Oooooh some of them I can’t give away because they’re coming, and they’ll knock your socks off. Favorite moments so far though are Fiji and Bobo discussing marriage and kids in their last moment of pure bliss, and Rev (Yul Vazquez) and Lem’s (Peter Mensah) talk in the church. It breaks my heart still.

Q) What do you think it is about the show that continues to make it such a fan favorite?

A) There’s so much heart in it. There so much bridging of gaps between beings who are very different on paper, but united within. As actors we truly care about each other and I think that bleeds into the show. And we truly care about and connect with the fans. We think of them when we’re filming, we interact while we’re airing.  Connection is a theme that runs through every aspect of “Midnight” and this is a time when we need connection — maybe more than anything else.

Q) You are a part of social media. Will you be sharing any behind the scenes photos or videos from filming this season?

A) Absolutely!!

Q) We loved seeing you as Meghan Markle in the Lifetime movie about her engagement to Prince Harry. Any interest in replaying her for a movie on her wedding and new baby?

A) Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I loved making that movie and embodying such an intriguing person, but that movie in particular felt like a moment in time. I’m looking forward to exploring other stories now.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and the work that you do?

A) Thank you for asking!! I’d love to say how grateful I am for the support, for the encouragement, for them/you sharing their/your stories with me on social media. I love humans. And one of the best things about my job is connecting with so many, from so many different walks of life. THANK YOU to all who participate in conversations with me and to all who watch and encourage others to watch my work. I feel you and appreciate you and hope we get to keep going like this for a long, long time.
