Q) Please tell us the premise for the movie Circle of Deception.

A) It about a small island community that is turned upside down when a local businessman, Russell Douglas, is found dead the day after Christmas.

Q) How does your role of Russel Douglas fit into the plot?

A) Russell is the unfortunate fella who is found dead the day after Christmas. The investigation into his murder ensues…

Q) What made you want to be a part of this film?

A) I’ve always found stories based on real life events intriguing. As well, this was an opportunity to work with a terrific cast.

Q) Was there anything you added to the character that wasn’t in the initial breakdown?

A) I always try to add a certain element of myself to every role. Obviously, I did not have the chance to meet Russell, but I hope that I gave him a bit of my sense of humor and humanity.

Q) Were you surprised at all when you read the script and learned who the actual murderer was?

A) I had my suspicions while reading it, for sure. Not to give anything away, but I’m certainly glad it wasn’t Brenna [Jill Morrison] (because she would never hurt poor Russell 🙂).

Q) Often in Lifetime films the setting can play a role in itself. In what ways does it project itself in this movie?

A) Vancouver is a great double for the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest. Fortunately, the weather cooperated with us for the shoot, which can often be tricky here.

Q) This was Ashley Williams first time directing a TV movie. As a fellow actor, what kind of perspective did she offer that helped you with your character?

A) Ashley is a rock star and it was an absolute pleasure working with her. She has a great sense of story and a keen eye for the nuance of performance. I can’t wait until we get to do it again.

Q) What were some of your favorite moments from filming Circle of Deception?

A) Almost all of my scenes were with the lovely and talented Jill Morrison, who plays Brenna. We had a great connection. Although the subject matter is quite dark, we laughed a ton – especially the bedroom scene!

Q) With such intense scenes and storyline, how did you shake off a long day of filming?

A) I tend to leave my work on the set. Besides, with two small children at home, I don’t have much of a chance to sit with things for too long!

Q) What do you think it is about this Lifetime movie that will make it a fast fan favorite thriller?

A) I think casting is key, and we had a terrific ensemble cast, led by the phenomenal Diane Neal.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant fan feedback you’ll receive to the film?

A) It’s always terrific to hear from the fans, especially in the moment.

Q) What are the other recent projects we’ll be seeing you in soon?

A) You can catch me alongside Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke, playing Bud Mularkey in the new Netflix series “Firefly Lane.”

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and the work you do?

A) THANK YOU! I always appreciate the support from the fans. It means a lot to me to know that my work has made an impression on people.
