Q) We’re seeing you have a film Hell Fest coming out this Friday, September 28th. Tell us more about this film.

A) Hell Fest is a movie about a group of college kids that go to a horror theme park called “Hell Fest” filled with tons of mazes (which is incredibly popular now a days) and there happens to be a killer appearing to be in costume actually killing those attending the park. It’s reminiscent of the old classic horror movies.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the film?

A) What attracted me to Hell Fest was the story of going to a theme park with haunted mazes. I had literally just gone to Netherworld in Atlanta for the first time about a month before I got the audition and surprisingly loved it!  It was really a fun experience with all of my friends.

Q) Talk about working with actress Bex Taylor-Klaus.

A) Tons. of. laughs! She is one of the funniest human beings I ever met. She’s very sweet, very kind and a really great actress! Super fun to work with!

Q) What advice did director Gregory Plotkin provide during filming that you took to heart?

A) Something that I took away from working with Greg, is he gave us the opportunity to express ourselves creatively as artists.

Q) You often take on dramatic roles. What is it about this genre that draws you to it?

A) The fun and excitement of not knowing what is going to happen in the next scene.

Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) Recently, I have worked on “MacGyver,” which also comes back on the same day as Hell Fest’s release (Sept 28). “Snowfall” Season Two has been airing on FX and you can always catch up on FXnow! I have a few things up my sleeve that I’m not at liberty to say, but definitely keep an eye out!

Q) We’ve been seeing you recently on “Snowfall.” How was your character Melody originally described to you?

A) She is this 16-year-old girl that is the neighbor of Saint (which is portrayed by Damson Idris) who is constantly being monitored by her dad who is over protective.  Melody, though, is a spirited young girl who clearly has an attraction to her neighbor.

Q) Was there anything you added to Melody that wasn’t initially there in the script for her?

A) There wasn’t anything that I necessarily added in terms of story. I believe I brought out her sassiness and curiosity. When I booked it, we were able to go in to back story and that gave me more to work with in my performance.

Q) Before joining the cast, was there someone you were most looking forward to sharing a scene with?

A) Based off of our chemistry read, I was excited to work with Damson Idris. If I had booked the role, I wanted to see where they would take our characters.

Q) Did you need to do any kind of research on the era before starting to film?

A) I talked with my mom about growing up in the eighties, what were her experiences, what did they wear. I wanted to know about growing up in the eighties as a young black female. It also helped that my mom was raised by a single father leaving me with a lot to draw from.

Q) What have been some of your most memorable behind the scenes moments from filming “Snowfall?”

A) The first season the July 4th episode when the cops came to the party and the lead, Franklin Saint, was put in a choke hold. It was a very emotional and powerful moment on set because those situations are being brought to light but are not in any way new in our society.

Q) You’re a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the fans’ reaction to your character?

A) Yes, I’m looking forward to fan reactions. I hope the fans enjoy her fun and loving character.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and the work you do?

A) Thank you all for your support and sending you much love and positivity!
