We are in the third round of live shows and first results for Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance.” One boy and one girl will go home while the rest continue to dance for their lives.

As always Cat Deeley hosts while Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Laurieann Gibson and Dominic Sandoval are the judge.

Tonight we will see solos, paired dances and group performances.

Gino and Sophie are now paired together.

Benjamin and Anna do a Tahitian dance choreographed by Tiana. It is a dance genre I am not familiar with, but I kind of like it. They seem to have a nice chemistry and work well together. The dance itself seems nice, but as I said I am not sure what I am supposed to be looking out for.

Nigel wanted to see more character, but the others seemed to like it. However, they all gave Anna places to improve.

Solo: Sophie

Honestly, the solos are pretty quick so it is hard to even recap them. I’m just going to focus on the paired dances.

Ezra and Madison do a hip-hop routine choreographed by Randi and Hef. It was just okay. Ezra was particularly uncomfortable, but Madison seemed to connect to the routine. To be honest, it was kind of unmemorable.

Laurieann and Nigel enjoyed it while Dominic and Mary were hoping for something more, particularly from Ezra.

Solo: Gino

The next paired routine is done by Mariah and Bailey and choreographed by Dmitry. The cha cha cha is feisty and fun, but lacked technique. To me, it looked more like club dancing than competition dancing.

The judges give Bailey some constructive criticism, but thinks he improved toward the end. They loved Dmitry’s choreography and think Mariah was a star.

Solos: Madison and Ezra

Gino and Sophie do a contemporary routine choreographed by KC Monnie. It is by far the best routine of the night so far. Magic from start to finish. I know I had my jaw on the ground the entire time because it was beautiful, dreamy and near perfection.

The judges loved it as well, calling it magical, memorable and part of a special message.

Solos: Mariah and Ezra

Benjamin and Anna do a Broadway routine choreographed by Al. They do much better with this routine and they seem more comfortable with this genre. They are in character, nail the choreography and just shine on stage.

The judges think this was better and think it was amazing all around.

Ezra and Madison do the Argentine tango, which is choreographed by Miriam and Leonardo.  This is my favorite style of dance, so I am quite excited. The moves, chemistry and power were all there. In short, it was HOT.

The judges love the intensity and strength in the dance.

Solos: Benjamin and Anna

Mandy and Elizabeth choreograph a contemporary routine for Bailey and Mariah. It is a beautiful routine and not only shows off their talent, but their amazing chemistry. It is amazing from start to finish.

Dom calls it his favorite routine and Nigel says they are the couple to beat.

The paired dances end with Gino and Sophie’s jazz routine. I miss who choreographed it, but that person should be commended for making this routine one of the best of the night. It is by far everything a jazz routine should be and more.  The technique, the artistry, everything is absolutely brilliant.

Laurieann thinks they are the ones to beat while Mary puts them on the hot tamale train. Nigel thinks they may have given Bailey and Mariah some competition.

Solo: Bailey

Group Dance 1: Madison, Benjamin, Mariah and Gino. It is choreographed by Talia and quite interesting to say the least. I’m honestly not a fan of group dances, so I kind of tune out.

Group Dance 2: Bailey, Anna, Sophie and Ezra. Sean Cheeseman choreographs it and I like the Afro jazz theme. I also like how they work together, but have their own moments to shine.

Results:

Ezra, Benjamin, Madison and Anna are in danger. Mariah, Gino, Sophie and Bailey are safe. In the end, it is Anna and Benjamin going home.
