Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) My sound has a pop/indie feel with soulful hints of R&B as well.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Some of my favorite artists who inspire me are JLo, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Justin Timberlake.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Watch Out For Me.”

A) When I wrote this song, I wanted to leave it open to the audience to decide, who or what this song is personally related to in their life. “Watch Out for Me” was originally written about a friend who betrayed me. I don’t like being involved in drama, so when rumors are being spread, I usually stay away. However, I was very hurt by some things being said about me, so I put my emotions into my music.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) Definitely the lyrics because they can relate to the meaning with their own personal experiences.

Q) Can fans expect a video to go alongside of the track?

A) Yes, actually I have a music video coming in the very near future!

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) When I create a new song, I begin with an instrument and create a melody first. Then, I develop an emotion from the melody to begin storytelling.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) My producer, Michael Child, makes sure I am satisfied with the direction the music is going and it is the final product I wanted when I was first writing the music.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Sydney Cope performance?

A) I like to get the audience involved in my music performances with clapping, singing and dancing along.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Yes, I am always working on new music and will have more in the coming months. You may see an EP at the end of the year!

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) The House of Blues Dallas, Grapevine Opry and Six Flags Over TX because I started performing there when I was younger.  These venues helped build my confidence and were enjoyable for me. I cherish the memories and friends I made along the way.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) It would definitely be Billie Eilish because of how creative, unique and amazing she is as an artist.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next album because it’s fun and I jam out to her songs in my car.  Also, John Mayer’s The Search for Everything album because it eases my mind and puts a smile on my face.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Everyone is on social media nowadays and it is how you meet others, keep up with family, friends and fans across the nation. It’s important to me because I can communicate quickly with fans and they can get to know who I am.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) There are so many no’s before you get that one yes, so keep working hard for what you are passionate about and makes you happy. [smile]
