Q) How is the process of creating music different for a movie than for a regular album?

A) They’re pretty similar. They wanted to do the original version of “Stars Fall on Alabama,” for me to put my spin on it. Then, also to do a version of “Gives You Hell” by All American Rejects. And so those two songs were going to be in the movie. So, the recording process was the same. It’s just how the songs are placed in the movie that is different.

Q) What were some of the challenges of creating music specifically for a movie?

A) It’s not really any different. It’s just there. You just place them in the movie, as opposed to the CD. So, no challenges. It was very simple. The hard part was actually finding the music and making sure that the music was fit the style of the movie.

Q) Did you work with the writers or actors while creating the song to get a better idea of what was needed for the movie?

A) Well, as we were talking about it, the writers had the idea for the music. And so, it was a really easy process once the music was picked. Obviously, “Stars Fell in Alabama” is a traditional jazz and a very popular one in the state. And that was kind of a no brainer.

Q) What exactly are you doing in the movie, apart from singing two of your new songs?

A)  I’m just a part of the band, which was not having to memorize many lines which is good.

Q) Do you plan on doing more movies (acting or appearances) in the future?

A) I am actually auditioning for four different films and television stuff as we speak. Super secret projects, but I am super excited.

Q) You’re also releasing a new album. How would you describe its sound?

A) It is very, it’s a very rich record, a very Southern roots record. There’s some secret collaboration, but in due time I will tell.

Q) The new album features a cover of “Gives You Hell.” What made you choose that song?

A)  I think that just, that’s the scene. You know, the dance scene was great. And the lyrics kind of led to the scene. And it was kind of a perfect. It was kind of a perfect relationship between the sound and the lyrics.

Q) What else have you been busy working on?

A) Just seeing what’s around the corner and hopefully 2021 will be a better year than 2020. That’s for sure.

Q) What would you like to say to people who are fans and supporters?

A) Well, stay safe and stay happy and we will see you in 2021. Fingers crossed.
