Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Our sound mixes elements of pop and urban music. It’s pop lyrics and melodies to urban beats that have EDM drops. It’s a mixture of all four of our influences.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

Danielle: Lauryn Hill, the Beatles, Drake, Kehlani.

Ryan: Stevie Wonder, Pharrell Williams, Noah “40” Shebib, The Chainsmokers

Brandon: Timbaland, Will.i.am, Kanye West

Stanz: Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Tiesto, Bibi Bourelly

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Bad Place.”

A) It’s a song that I had written and sent to the guys. It’s about a break up. It’s about getting over someone, deleting pictures, cutting them off. Realizing you want them gone but still having to deal with all of the emotional baggage that’s left over. Having to heal. Once they produced the beat around my vocals, they took it to another level and it really felt like we did something special so we decided to keep making more music and eventually become a group.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) It’s a song that talks about real emotions and sadness, but it also makes you feel good at the same time because it’s powerful and upbeat with a huge drop. It’s one of those heartbreak anthems.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I feel like every song has a different process. Sometime the lyrics come first. Sometime the music. Sometimes both at the same time. With this song the melody and lyrics came first then we built the best around that. It went through a few phases with the arrangement. We’re constantly bouncing our ideas off each other though.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) We write and produce everything ourselves. If there were any outside writers or producers it would be a very collaborative process. But, for now, we do everything ourselves. We usually bring someone in to mix and master.

Q) What can fans expect to hear from a live The Ntwrk performance?

A) That’s something we’ve been talking about and envisioning. We know that whatever it is, it’s not going to be traditional. But we want to bring something fun and exciting to our listeners.

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

A) We are going to keep releasing content steadily. We have a few more singles in the works. And, yes, it will be building up to a full album.
