Top 3 TV Moments – May 10 – May 15

Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: Council of Dads, “The Sixth Stage” – The next step.

Robin (Sarah Wayne Callies) took a step into the unexpected when she started feeling sexual tension. My favorite moment had to be the scene in the car that definitely turned out differently than expected. It was meant to be a moment to just release her nervousness and stress, but it turned into one of relief and calmness. She was able to have a conversation with a man and take a step towards realizing that what she was feeling was normal and she didn’t have to rush to get over anything.

Comedy/Reality TV: Insecure, “Lowkey Movin’ On” – Breakups are hard, but friendship breakups are the hardest.

The tension between Issa (Issa Rae) and Molly (Yvonne Orji) finally boiled over at Issa’s block party. I never expected the blows to hit as hard as they did between these two. I’m rooting for this friendship to mend back together, but I know it’s going to take a while to do so. During their big fight Molly approached Issa because she felt the way she got help from her boyfriend was to spite her and what she told Issa to do. It was sad and, right now, I am fully on Issa’s side in this fight. But, overall, these women need to learn how to be better communicators. If they had the conversations that needed to have happened, they wouldn’t be in this weird stage. The dynamic between these two characters is at an all-time low, but it will be interesting to see how they navigate fully without each other from here on out.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: The Flash, “Success Is Assured” – Is she a Mirror Master, too?

Can we talk about that ending that really shook me to the core? I mean, Iris (Candice Patton) vanished right before our eyes in the finale. It was definitely the highlight scene of a rather lackluster episode that had a lot more filler in it than I would have liked. Even though this wasn’t intended to be the finale episode, the end left a great cliffhanger. However, I hate seeing Iris put through more pain and this is basically what the cliffhanger brought. I have some theories about what could have happened to her – like maybe she is some kind of Mirror Master now, too. I don’t know exactly what’s coming for us at the top of Season 7, but it’s going to be something wild for sure. Candice Patton gave phenomenal performances all throughout this season up and her final scene didn’t disappoint. I just hope Iris gets home to Barry (Grant Gustin) soon!
